The free-to-play fantasy online real-time strategy game, World of Battles, officially launches out of beta today and the newest install client is now available. "World of Battles is set in a medieval universe where 8 races battle it out to dominate the entire world. Take control of your armies and earn the right to be called the Lord of War. Players can choose to play any one of 8 popular fantasy races, from humans to elves, the Living Dead through to Orcs and Dwarves. World of Battles allows for a very high level of customization, right down to individual soldiers within your battalions. Once your troops are recruited, trained and ready for combat it's up to you to decide on how best to equip them before heading out into the field of battle."

World of Battles is a free-to-play fantasy-themed online real-time strategy game that recently entered open beta. Players choose from nine different races and command hundreds of detailed units into combat. To give new commanders the advantage in the battlefield, Big Download is giving away 100 special beta accounts, each loaded with 500 gems (about $7 of in-game currency) to purchase units and build up an army.

Entering the giveaway is easy. Simply send an email to contests@bigdownload.com with the subject line reading "World of Battles Beta Giveaway." The contest will continue until all 100 accounts are distributed. These accounts will remain valid during the beta and will expire once the beta period ends.

Several months after the game was first announced, the fantasy MMO RTS title World of Battles is now ready to let everyone try out the game. Publisher Focus Home Interactive has announced that the open beta for the game is underway with players able to sign up at the World of Battles web site.

Developed by Cyanide Studio (the team behind the recently released Blood Bowl) the game features nine different factions. Players can recruit, train and customize their army's units and then put them to work in the real time strategy mode and even team up with other players in massive guild-based battles. Game developer Frogwares is best known for their point-and-click adventure games, including the recently announced Sherlock Holmes Vs Jack The Ripper. Today it was revealed that the studio is branching out with plans to create a free-to-play online multiplayer strategy game, World of Battles.

The game's publisher Focus Home Interactive has launched a teaser web site for the game along with its first screenshots. The game's fantasy setting has nine races to choose from and players will be able to train and customise your army's units before going into online battle. There is one-on-one gameplay or you can choose to play with friends against other armies and team. While free to play , the game will also support micro-transactions to add more customizations to units and troops. World of Battles is expected to launch in March 2009.
