New Wolverine screenshots released; is he fighting a rock monster?

We never really look forward to most movie or TV show based games. Even with the supposed input of the creators of said productions most of these licensed titles are mediocre marketing games. However we do have higher hopes for X-Men Origins: Wolverine simply because this Activision title will have Raven Software at the development helm.

Activision sent over a batch of new screenshots (11 in all) showing the clawed-equipped fast healing mutant Logan doing what he does best. Apparently he's doing what he does best to some huge rock monster thingie in a few of the shots. Hmmmm....We hope Raven knows what it's doing. Oh, and a couple of the shots are more vertical than normal . . . just a heads-up.

Raven Software developing Wolverine movie game

Movie-based games are usually just excuses for quickly made titles that turn out to be mediocre at best but still have a tendency to sell decently. However, 1Up.com is reporting that may not be the case for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The Activision published title, due for release around the same time the movie comes out in early May, is being developed by Raven Software, makers of many a great game (including two X-Men Legends action-RPG titles)

The game is featured on this month's print version of Electronic Gaming Monthly and that image you see above is supposedly an actual in-game screenshot. The magazine gives more info on the title which includes features like an in-game healing system for our favorite mutant, a big boss battle with a Sentinel robot and more.
