As promised recently, the first expansion pack for Gaijin Entertainment's World War II flight sim game Wings of Prey has been released via digital download. The expansion pack, Wings of Luftwaffe, adds a new 10 mission campaign where players take control of a German pilot with missions in Britain, Sicily, the USSR, Belgium and Germany. The expansion also adds two new planes (the Ju 88 A-4 and the P-39N-0) along with 44 plane skins. It also adds co-op support for up to four players.
There's also a new patch for Wings of Prey available for download at the Yuplay.com site. Besides adding support for the Wings of Luftwaffe expansion it also has a number of bug fixes.
Late in 2009, developer Gaijn Entertainment released Wings of Prey, their PC World War II flying simulation. Now comes word that the game is getting a new expansion pack, Wings of Luftwaffe. Due out in April, the expansion pack will add two new plane and 10 new missions to the original game as you get to fly on the German side this time There will also be over 40 new skins for the game's existing planes.
For the moment, the only way to get the expansion pack is via the yuPlay web site. This weekend you can pre-order the expansion for 30 percent off its normal price. The original Wings of Prey game is also on sale for 50 percent off this weekend only.
It's Tuesday which means Steam users have at least one PC game that's been put on sale from now until Thursday. Today that honor goes to Wings of Prey, the recent WWII military flight simulator from developer Gaijin Entertainment. You can download and purchase the game for the next 48 hours for just $24.99, a 50 percent cut from its normal price.
And if you haven't tried the goodness that is Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter, you are in luck. The FPS graphical remake from Croteam is on sale for just $7.49 from now until March 2. The sale extends to the bundle deal where you can purchase four digital copies at once; the price for that bundle is now $22.48 until March 2.

Looks like there will be one more PC games released this year after all. Today Gaijin Entertainment announced that their WWII military flight simulator Wings of Prey is now available to purchase via download for $49.99. People who decided to get the digital download version get access to two extra planes for free. Another plane can also be added to the game "for a small fee".
While it's not stated on the web site, Wings of Prey is an improved version of IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds Of Prey, the console only flight sim that was released earlier this year to high critical acclaim.
Gaijin Entertainment, the Russian-based game developer with a Japanese-sounding name, has announced a new PC-only game titled Wings of Prey. This game is a WWII military flight simulator with a pre-order page stating the game will be released in December for $39.99. Pre-orders also apparently get into a closed beta test for the game.
Wings of Prey's press release is boasting of its "Authentic World War atmosphere" with over 40 aircraft and over 50 historically accurate missions covering the air war in Europe. Players can also switch between realistic simulation and a pure fun arcade mode. Four multiplayer modes are promised along with leaderboards, VOIP support, friends lists and other features. You can also look for new plans and missions for the game to be released via download in 2010.
