One is the game's levels and enviroments which will range from small close combat settings to more expansive maps. F.E.A.R. 3 puts Paxton Fettel in single player campaign

F.E.A.R. 3 is charging up its marketing push in advanced of the horror-themed first person shooter's May release date. Today publisher Warner Bros Interactive announced that the game will let players control Paxton Fettel in the game's single player mode.

While the supernaturally powered Fettel will still be playable in the game's two player co-op mode, developer Day 1 Studios will now allow players to control Fettel all by his lonesome in the game's single player campaign. Fettel will be unlocked in each of the game's single player levels once the player completes each level while playing as the heavily armed Point Man. That should add some replay value to the game as Fettel can use his telekentic abilities to take out or posses enemies.

Rumor: Turbine-Warner Bros. deal worth $160 million?

Last night's surprise (and extremely late) news story on MMO game developer Turbine being acquired by Warner Bros. has now yielded some more info, according to the Boston.com web site (Turbine is based in Boston). According to their unnamed sources Warner Bros. paid $160 million to purchase Turbine. That amount includes "sums to be paid to Turbine shareholders in future years if the company meets certain financial targets."

While Turbine has never officially announced how many players they have for their subscription-based MMO games Asheron's Call and Lord of the Rings Online, the story says that Turbine admitted to having over one million players for Dungeons and Dragons Online, which moved to a free-to-play business model last year. Also Martin Tremblay, the current president of Warner Bros. Interactive, stated in the story they plan to work with the Turbine team to develop more games. Warner Bros. is home to The Matrix movies; the MMO based on the films, The Matrix Online, shut down in 2009. Warner Bros is also home to DC Comics. The super hero MMO DC Universe Online, is currently in development at Sony Online.

New Lego Batman screenshots show off Poison Ivy and Bruce Wayne

The cute and fun Lego series of game will expand to include the Batman franchise later this fall and this week Warner Bros. Interactive released new screenshots from the Traveller's Tales developed title showing off two more of the game's characters. One is millionaire playboy Bruce Wayne in his suit and carrying a briefcase but of course most of us know that Bruce Wayne is in fact the role that a certain title character uses to throw people off guard.

The other new character from Lego Batman this week is Poison Ivy, one of the many sexy female villains in Batman's life. Whether the character is commanding plants to do her bidding, controlling people via her toxins or killing them with her deadly kiss, she is definitely one of the most powerful bad guys in Batman's rogue gallery (in the classic Batman comic book series Hush, she even managed to control Superman and turn him against Batman).

New trailer and screenshots show off more characters in Lego Batman

This fall developer Traveller's Tales and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive will be giving us the next Lego themed game and this time it won't be based on anything made by George Lucas. Lego Batman will feature a ton of characters from the DC Comics super hero franchise and today we have some new screenshots and a high-def trailer to show you today.

The new shots show off three new characters. One is Nightwing, the new super hero identity of "youthful ward" Dick Grayson after dumping his original Robin persona. The other two are bad guys; the shape-shifting mad-o-mud known as Clayface and Bane, the super-steroid Mexican wrestler look-a-like that in the comic book series broke Batman's back and forced Bruce Wayne to spend some time recovering while another person took on the Batman character.

The new trailer shows off the Nighwing character doing what he does best; flipping around and using his sticks to basically make a mess of things. Enjoy.
