This gameplay walkthrough video for
Command & Conquer 4: Tiberium Twilight takes players through the "Transport Down" mission that's included in the single player campaign. It looks like the Forgotten faction, a group of mutated humans, might be playing a stronger role in the upcoming game. Hopefully, they'll be more than just neutral fodder, considering how they played a huge role in the second
C&C game but were barely mentioned in the third. However, the one big thing to take away is that the gameplay in the fourth installment is far different from any of the games that have come before. Not only will many of the units get an overhaul, but players will have to think about how and when to upgrade them. Players will also have to take unit caps and control points into consideration.
Among one of the most significant changes involves how buildings are captured. It looks like the developers will be trading in the precious engineers for a more straightforward approach. Players will have to bring units in range of the structure, eliminate the opposition, and hold the area until the building is captured. Damaging the building speeds up capture, but this is certainly a very different gameplay dynamic. We'll just have to see how it all balances out when the game releases on March 19, 2010. Pre-order customers automatically qualify for beta sign-ups.
