Vindictus trailers introduce new content and boss

Vindictus is one of the best free-to-play MMOs we've ever palyed, and its now on episode five of its continual update scheme. These two trailers give a brief look into the new content for those that are interested, and while it's not really a ton of new stuff, it'll please hack and slash players nonetheless. The first trailer, above, covers all of the new features and goodies that are included in the update, such a Heroic Mode and a new level cap. The trailer below shows off the various bosses that players will be forced to fight. It's not just one, end boss, either. There's quite a few.

Vindictus trailer goes out through hordes of enemies

There have been plenty of gameplay-focused trailers for Vindictus, so now it's time for a more cinematic look at the free-to-play title. This trailer shows off both some of the scenes and some of the gameplay that is a part of Nexon's new title. It's very cool, and we especially like the unique approach to the first half. Playing important scenes from the game backwards is a very interesting way of approaching a trailer! As Vindictus is in open beta, you can go ahead and give the game a try yourself!

Vindictus trailer slings destructive spells around the battlefield

The Vindictus open beta is currently running for anyone interested, and it is a surprisingly good free-to-play MMO. However, there are currently only two classes, and a minimal amount of customization between them. Not really surprising for the open beta for such an ambitious game, but it's still disappointing. That all is changing with the introduction of Evie, one of the planned future classes. Evie is a spellcaster, and this trailer shows off several of her moves. Our personal favorites are creating golems out of physics objects, turning items into healing crystals, and resurrecting downed comrades at the cost of her own well-being.

Nexon America records higher revenues and 12 million users for free-to-play games

Nexon America's library of free-to-play online titles continues to expand in both users and in revenues. Vinctus trailer profanes the goddess

Vindictus is a prequel to the fairly popular free-to-play MMO Mabinogi, and it has finally hit the open beta stage. With plenty of gore, violence, and high-octane action, it looks to be vastly different than Mabinogi, and in a good way. This trailer commemorates the start of the open beta, which means all are welcome to give the game a go. It's filled with cutscenes, stylized vignettes, and actual gameplay footage, which makes it an unusually effective trailer, especially after the concise gameplay trailers that have already been released. The voiceover work is a little corny, though.

Vindictus open beta begins; official launch on October 27

After a couple of closed beta events, Nexon is close to officially launching its latest free-to-play PC game title. Today the open beta for Vindictus started which allows anyone to download and play the close-to-final version of this rather mature (read: lots of blood) fantasy MMO title. As we have reported before people who join the game now can retain their characters when the final version launches. The launch of the open beta also opens up the third "episode" of the game itself where players will have to deal with "mobs of vampire and goblin monsters."

And when will the official launch happen, exactly? Our sister site Massively reports that Nexon is now scheduled to officially launch Vindictus in all of its Source Engine glory on October 27 or two weeks from today.

Vindictus open beta begins October 13

After holding a couple of closed beta events, Nexon has just announced that the open beta for its upcoming free-to-play fantasy MMO Vindictus will begin on October 13. Players that are in the current beta test will be able to bring their characters, loot and other items into the open beta test period as well as the final version of the game when it launches later this year.

The open beta also adds a new dungeon to Vindictus with new monsters and bosses to players to deal with. The open beta will also have other additions such as a fishing feature, guild tools and more. The level cap in the game will also be raised up to 38. The current beta test will shut down on October 5 in preparation for the open beta.

Vindictus trailer grapples with gory werewolves

There are straightforward trailers, and then there's this trailer for the upcoming Vindictus. There's minimal introduction, no voice-over, no text, and no HUD. All that happens is a player repeatedly grappling and murdering werewolves. It's interesting to see such a clear, focused trailer, especially for a free MMO, and it makes the mechanics look interesting and fun. The animations are also well-done and have minimal errors in clipping and collision. It's often hard to create interest with a trailer today, as there are so many floating out there, but this Vindictus trailer manages it with ease.

Big Download's News Bits & Bytes - September 15

Indie games got a one-two punch of promotion today with today's announcements from IGN and OnLive. And let's face it; the indie game scene is still pretty much centered around the PC platform. So much for the death of the PC game platform.
