New Team Fortress 2 update available

Team Fortress 2 is one of the most enduringly great multiplayer shooters of all time. This is in no small way a result of the many frequent updates the game receives to fix glitches, balance maps, and just in general make the game better. Another update has been released, and this one fixes a lot of problems. Some example of the things fixed are: Players can no longer fire through grates, walls, or other thin obstacles Players killing themselves now gives the kill credit to the last player that damaged them Kritzkrieg now works on servers with criticals turned off Backburner no longer gives a health bonus This is only a small sample of the bountiful fixes and tweaks in the new update. To download the patch, simply log on to Steam. Full patch notes can be found at Steam's site....

New Steam update released

For those who have been waiting for the answers to your Steam issues, wait no more. A new Steam client update was released yesterday to all those who use the excellent platform. While some of the issues are mere minor additions, such as the addition of ClearType font support and DX10 overlay support, the bugfixes are what are most interesting. The new update fixes things such as network connectivity when the client's computer is dropping UDP packets, the inability to completely download the original Half-life, keyboard shortcuts for the overlay not working in some games, and cancer. Well, maybe not cancer. But these bugfixes are still incredibly helpful....

Garry's Mod to include skeleton game mode in new update

The folks playing with GMod are known for their penchant to create awesome contraptions and hilarious fan-fiction parodies. And now Garry is giving them something else to play with. Included with his next update are the bare bones skeleton for a simple gametype. Garry demonstrated its usefulness by creating a game called Melon Racer (pictured above). Gradually, it seems, GMod is turning from a physics sandbox into a full-blown in-game SDK. And we love it. ...

Yet another Steam and TF2 update

It seems that the much-lauded TF2 Gold Rush update caused as many problems as cool new stuff it introduced. Two new official Valve updates have just been released to address some more issues. The first is a client update that fixes bugs involving launching GoldSRC (Half-life 1) mods as well as network issues and an inability to launch Portal: First Slice. The second is a TF2 update that fixes yet another infinite übercharge exploit, the extremely annoying "reliable snapshot overflow" error, and the inability for user maps to have functioning elevators. This still doesn't damper my enthusiasm for the new content, though! ...

Evochron Renegades updates, includes better Multiplayer

Evochron Renegades, an indie elite-like, has released a new version. The game is very similar to X3: Reunion or Freelancer in terms of being a realistic freeform space sim. There's many new features, but here are the most notable: A new multiplayer system allowing for improved router support and performance. Option to save in different profile slots in-game (multiple save points). Custom music option now supports event/threat level triggered music. In other words, you can add all your own music for actions you might do in the game. Server software updated for new multiplayer functionality. A new clan battlefield system. For a full list of changes, as well as the download link for the demo (trust me, it's well worth it!), visit the official site. You can purchase the full version for $25 as well, which gives you a registration key for the demo to unlock it to the full version.[Via Blue's News]...
