OilRush now available for pre-order; to be released in June

A little while ago we reported on an upcoming PC game called OilRush, a action-RTS-tower defense game that's takes place on a future Earth where you have to defend oil rigs out in the ocean against attackers. The development team for the game is the same team that also makes the Unigine game graphics engine.

This week the developers announced that it is taking pre-orders for OilRush for $19.95 in both Windows and Linux versions. The price will allow players to access free beta versions before the game's full release along with exclusive "game related materials". OilRush is currently scheduled for its official launch in June 2011.

OilRush announced

Earlier this year we reported on an upcoming game called Primal Carnage, a game that was licening the use of the Uniengine game graphics engine. This week Uniengine announced that the team is now working on its own internally developed game, a real time naval strategy title called OilRush (and yes that is how it's spelled).

The game, set in a post-apocalyptic world that is flooded, the game combines elements of RTS and tower defense games as players try to control water-based oil rigs from attacking forces. Players can set up platforms to defend the oil rigs which are under attack by fleets of ships, subs and aircraft. The game will also have LAN and online multiplayer and allows players to advanced through a tech tree of new weapons, including (thank you) nukes. OilRush is due out by the end of 2010. You can check out a trailer for the game after the jump.

Primal Carnage developers taking pre-orders . . . sort of

We love dinosaurs. We would love to have a good first person shooter where we would have to shoot us some dinosaurs. So we were excited when we first learned about Lukewarm Media's plans for their upcoming first person shooter Primal Carnage, which has players shooting, you guessed it, dinosaurs.

This week the development team released a video on YouTube showing off the graphical goodness of the game. There's no actual gameplay in the video but if it plays as good as this video looks Primal Carnage should be in good shape. The development team is currently taking "donations" for the game. In this case, "donations" doesn't mean you get nothing for your money. If you decided to donate over $20 you will get the full game for free along with an invite to its closed beta. So it's basically a pre-order.

Primal Carnage (Dinosaurs Vs Humans!) announced

There are not too many things that are cooler in pop culture than having stories where people have to deal with dinosaurs. Usually it involves dinos eating humans while said humans have to shoot said dinos. A newly revealed game developer called Lukewarm Media wants to tap into that coolness factor with their newly revealed first person shooter Primal Carnage.

Due for release late in 2010 for both the PC and Linux platforms, the game will be multiplayer oriented with humans teams fighting against players controlling five different kinds of dinosaurs. Look for several multiplayer game modes along with mod support and DLC support after its release. The game licensed the Uniengine development tool which was the first to create a DirectX 11 benchmark tool.
