UFO: Afterlife now on GoG.com

While the X-Com franchise is taking a first person shooter bent with the recently revealed XCOM, the folks at developer Altar Interactive have been making spiritual successors to the classic turn based strategy game for a while. The latest such game from the developer, UFO Afterlight, is now available to purchase and download from the PC DRM-free web site GoG.com.

This game, first released in 2007, completes a trilogy that began with UFO: Aftermath and continued in UFO Aftershock, both of which are also available on GoG.com. UFO: Afterlight actually takes place before Aftershock on Mars where humans and the alien Reticulans have established a colony on Mars but have to deal with all new threat. The game is priced at $9.99.

GoG.com adds UFO: Aftershock to game line-up

GoG.com's latest addition to its library of DRM-free PC game titles is one that serves as a sequel to a game previously posted on the site. It's UFO: Aftershock, the sci-fi turn-based strategy sequel to developer Altar Interactive's previous game in the series, UFO: Aftermath. Both games are heavily inspired by the classic X-Com series.

GOG.com's version of UFO: Aftershock comes with some free wallpapers, artwork and even a free comic book based on the game. You can purchase and download the 2005 released title for just $9.99. GoG.com's web site shows that the next game that will be posted on the site will be the Myst sequel Riven.
