UFO: Afterlife now on GoG.com

While the X-Com franchise is taking a first person shooter bent with the recently revealed XCOM, the folks at developer Altar Interactive have been making spiritual successors to the classic turn based strategy game for a while. The latest such game from the developer, UFO Afterlight, is now available to purchase and download from the PC DRM-free web site GoG.com.

This game, first released in 2007, completes a trilogy that began with UFO: Aftermath and continued in UFO Aftershock, both of which are also available on GoG.com. UFO: Afterlight actually takes place before Aftershock on Mars where humans and the alien Reticulans have established a colony on Mars but have to deal with all new threat. The game is priced at $9.99.

GoG.com adds UFO: Aftermath to download line-up

GoG.com is another site that doesn't believe in taking a holiday break. The classic PC game download site that does not believe in selling games with DRM set ups has just added UFO Aftermath to their line-up. The 2003 strategy game from developer Altar Interactive is very much influenced by the X-Com franchise as humans have to fight off an alien invasion of Earth.

The GoG.com version of the game comes with lots of free extras including wallpapers, artwork, avatars, selected music tracks and more. You can download the game now for just $5.99. The second game in the series, UFO: Aftershock, is to be added to GoG.com in the near future.

In a related note, GoG.com has put four of its Interplay games (Descent 3, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, Sacrifice and Stonekeep) on sale for 30 percent off their normal GoG.com prices until Monday.
