HAWX to feature voice control, two-player co-op

Eurogamer managed to squeeze some Tom Clancy's HAWX-related information out of Ubidays demonstrator Andrei Costin: players will be able to give voice commands via microphone to AI wingmates, and the game will feature a two-player cooperative mode. The Ubisoft rep was not forthcoming with details, though.

The voice commands and cooperative mode match the theme of the game -- camaraderie with fellow pilots in extreme situations. According to Eurogamer, Ubisoft hopes to capture that Top Gun feel -- hopefully without the bad 80s music. We're still waiting on information on HAWX. So far all we have are tidbits like these and the Ubidays trailer. As Ubisoft reveals more info, though, we'll report what we see.

Beyond Good & Evil 2: Three screens from the teaser trailer

By now you've undoubtedly heard the news. Michel Ancel's critical darling, but commercial disaster, Beyond Good & Evil is returning for an unnamed, undated sequel. Confirming rumors we reported on earlier in the month, BG&E2 was revealed to the world during the Ubidays 2008 event in Paris, France.

As of now the only information regarding the sequel is the teaser trailer, which you can download in all it's high-res glory from Big Download now, and a trio of screens ripped from the short video--which Ubisoft claims is actual gameplay footage.

It isn't often that a game is announced and then shoots to the top of our most anticipated games list but Beyond Good & Evil 2 has done just that.

Introducing the best reason to stay alive until after E3 2008, Beyond Good & Evil 2.

Joystiq goes on safari with Far Cry 2

Joystiq Editor Christopher Grant played Ubisoft's Far Cry 2 at the Ubidays event in San Francisco. His impressions were very positive. He compared the simulation-based, open-world-set gameplay to that of Grand Theft Auto IV.

As we've heard before, Far Cry 2's world is 50 square kilometers in size. Apparently, though, not all of that space will be accessible from the git-go. After a few starter missions, the user gains access to about half of the world. The entire map won't be available until almost halfway through the story. Don't fret that limitation on your freedom, though. Far Cry 2's emergent style of gameplay offers a lot of flexibility to the player. Grant noted that the journalists present at the exhibit played through the demo in several different ways.

Joystiq's preview also contains information about the game's immersive death system, the gameplay applications of fire, and real-time flora growth. Though Far Cry 2 is also headed for consoles, Ubisoft Montreal's creative director asserted that he endeavors "to make Ubisoft a top-tier PC game."
