Ridge Racer Unbounded trailer crashes into a wall

Another teaser trailer for Ridge Racer Unbounded, and this video looks much like the previous ones. Streets, sleek looking cars, fancy cinematics, no in-game footage. We're not really into this sort of thing, as we have always mentioned, but car enthusiasts will probably get a kick out of it. For everyone else, though, it won't really inform or excite you. Wait for a more proper trailer.

Witcher 2 trailer goes into more depth with combat

The Witcher was an RPG in the classic PC style, and we loved that. The combat, however, felt a bit odd. Maybe it was because it was somewhere between action-focused murder and tactical thinking without being one or the other. This trailer for Witcher 2 goes into the intricacies of the combat system, and we are already liking what we see a lot more. Smooth combat, more varied moves, and a lot of information on how each skill tree affects your fighting. This is the definition of an excellent trailer.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel trailer fights against drug lords

Call of Juarez has, as a series, stayed in the wild west. While The Cartel aims to move to a more modern setting, it's still a bit of a western. There's definitely a bit of thematic influence from the excellent No Country For Old Men, and the characters definitely remind us of the classic western archetypes. Besides that, this is entirely a stylistic trailer. Lots of cool cinematics and explosions, not much else.

Darkspore trailer reveals all the praise

Darkspore is finally out, and it's getting a decent amount of praise. After all, the action RPG market has been a little barren of good releases since Torchlight, and Darkspore isn't bad. As with all launch trailers, this trailer doesn't show anything of real substance, just snippets from reviews intermingled with random in-game footage. Showy and flashy. You shouldn't need much convincing at this point, though. After all, the open beta ran for quite a while!

Hunted: The Demon's Forge trailer breaks away from stereotypes

We have to admit that we weren't excited for Hunted: The Demon's Forge. The crucible trailer began our turn back towards interested, and this trailer puts us all the way back into excited. While the plot seems standard enough, it's the acknowledgment that Hunted is aiming to be more about co-operative murder and mayhem than depth of plot that intrigues us. Good dungeon crawlers are few and far between, and none emulate the style of combat and visuals that Hunted seems to bring to the table.

Dungeon Siege 3 trailer brings forth the flaming archon

Another Dungeon Siege 3 trailer, another character unveiled. In this case, it's the archon known as Anjali. Turning into flame spirits, casting fire magic to wreck foes, and smacking unruly skeletons with a magical staff seem to be her fortes. As always, lots of beautiful in-game footage of the character in action, but little in the way of actually showing how they play. For example, is the transformation like switching stances, or is it a spell learned later on?

Daggerdale trailer ascends a foreboding tower

Dungeon and Dragons: Daggerdale looks fun, even if the setting is a bit on the generic side. This particular trailer shows the tower of a dark being known as Rezlok (we're not entirely sure how it is spelled), and various dungeon-like areas for the players to fight their way through. Nothing particularly stunning, but it's not bad for what is essentially a cinematic trailer done through the in-game engine.

Guild Wars 2 trailer visits the home of the Char

Guild Wars 2 trailers so far have tended to be on the side of area reveals rather than anything substantial. In this case, it's the home of the Charr, another one of the playable races. While they were primarily antagonists in the original Guild Wars, here they are much more benign. Lots of beautiful landscapes and menacing felids abound in this trailer, but once again there is nothing of any real in-game substance. Just some excellent art.

Darkspore trailer unveils Skar

The latest character trailer for Darkspore unveils a hero that seems very familiar. Perhaps it's because he has all the classic assassin traits: backstabbing, dual-wielding, weakness exposing, and outright stealthing. It's certainly got us interested, especially given the combination potential with his stealth. Besides showing off Skar, this trailer doesn't really have anything else, so if you aren't particularly interested in Darkspore, it's best skipped.

Hunted: The Demon's Forge trailer reveals the crucible

We have to admit that this trailer has us a bit intrigued. Until now, we weren't too interested in Hunted. After all, it looked like a fairly standard third-person action game. With the reveal of how the crucible works in detail, however, we're suddenly far more interested. Randomly-generated dungeons, with waves of monstrous enemies to fight off? This sounds like something we could get into, especially with another person. Plus, you can actually tweak the settings to fully customize the dungeon, making it your own instead of some machine-created bland killfest. We aren't normally impressed by trailers, but this one blew us away.
