Hinterland: Orc Lords free update released; retail version ships

In 2008 developer Tilted Mill released the first version of Hinterland, a fantasy action-RPG (with some town sim aspects) via download. Today the developer announced that a new free update for the game has been released via Steam along with a retail version of the game.

Hinterland: Orc Lords will give players of the original game a way to play as an Orc for the first time with two different classes (Orc Lord or Orc Shaman) available to play. In addition to the free Hinterland update the promised retail version of Hinterland: Orc Lords is now available in stores for $19.99 (it was previously due for release last March).

Hinterland heads to retail stores March 25

Tilted Mill's first downloadable original game, Hinterland, was released back in the summer of 2008. Now it appears that Tilted Mill is bringing the game to retail stores via publisher Got Game Entertainment. The company announced this week that Hinterland: Orc Lords will ship to stores and also released via download on March 25.

There's no word yet if Hinterland: Orc Lords will contain extra content that was not released in the previous downloadable versions of the game. However it looks like the retail version will keep the original's mix of a fantasy RPG with a village building sim gameplay element. We suspect that previous owners of the game will be getting any extra content in the retail version via a patch.
