Another busy day for news. Looks like Homefront may be doing OK in terms of sales:

• Steam has the first automatic patch for Total War Shogun 2 that fixes a few issues.
• Steam also has new updates for Dogfighter (includes new map and two new planes)and Race 07.
• You can get a free copy of Theatre of War: Africa 1943 if you pre-order Theatre of War 3: Korea on Steam.
• Indie game Revenge of the Titans is now on Steam and on sale for 10 percent off its normal price for the next week.
• More hints about a possible Hitman 5 have been revealed.
• Mass Effect 2 won for best game at this week's British Academy Video Game Awards.
• EA has now officially launched the Facebook game Dragon Age Legends.
• Movie soundtrack composer Hanz Zimmer will contribute to the Crysis 2 soundtrack.

The Theatre of War RTS series has had two installments (plus expansion packs) both of which were set in World War II. Now the third installment is ready to move out and into another war theatre. 1C Company announced that Theatre of War 3 Korea has gone gold and will be available to download on March 24.'

The game will feature two single player campaigns; one for the North Korea side and one for the US faction and both set in 1950 with highly realistic units and battles. The game will be made available for download via Steam. You can also get it from Battlefront.com via download and in a boxed copy via mail order for $35.

The Steam PC game download site still has a few more days before its annual holiday sales event ends. In addition to all of the deals that have been active since the sale began on December 20 it has some one-day price cuts that are in effect from now until 1 pm Eastern time on Saturday.

The Steam PC game download service goes back to its traditional mid-week sales event today with the announcement that most of the Theatre of War 2 WWII RTS games have had its price cut by 75 percent from now until Thursday. The games from developer 1C Company include Theatre of War 2: Kursk 1943, Theatre of War 2: Africa 1943, and Theater of War 2: Centauro all of which are all priced for just $5 each. Also the new expansion Theatre of War 2 - Battle for Caen is now available on Steam and is priced at 10 percent of at $8.99.

Also on sale from now until Thursday is Frozenbyte's hit puzzle-action game Trine which is priced at just $5 for both the PC and Mac versions. The Mac version of the game is newly released on Steam and as with other Mac games on the service people who own the PC port get the Mac version for free and vise-versa.

1C Company's WWII-themed RTS game Theatre of War 2 is getting yet another expansion pack later this fall. The Russia-based publisher announced plans today to release Theatre of War 2: Battle for Caen which centers on the real World War II battle that happened from June 26 to July 19, 1944 between British and German forces.

The expansion pack will add a total of over 40 new units to the main game for both sides of the conflict. There will also be eight new multiplayer maps in Battle for Caen and new infantry weapons as well. It's likely that this expansion will be sold in the US via Battlefront.com as has been the case with previous games and expansions in the series.

Even though the Labor Day holiday is over everyone still seems to be recovering from PAX Prime 2010. And we have the Tokyo Game Show coming up next week which, while its mostly about console games, could yield a few game announcements as well.

• The historical RTS game Theatre of War 2: Korea from 1C Company is now titled Theatre of War 3: Korea. We don't know why.
• A new Garry's Mod update is now available via Steam.
• Speaking of which, you can check out what Garry of Garry's Mod thinks about Mafia II.
• And speaking of which you can now purchase the original Mafia from Steam for $9.99.
• You can also get the acclaimed indie game VVVVVV from Steam for both PC and Mac with a 10 percent discount to $4.49.

The demo for historical strategy game Theatre of War 2: Kursk 1943 includes the tutorial, one Soviet misison, one German mission and a mission generator with limited functionality (one map and limited number of available troops). Continue reading after the jump for system requirements.

1C Company's WWII RTS game Theatre of War 2 was released earlier this year in the US by Battlefront.com. Today the publisher announced that the first expansion pack for the game, Theatre of War 2 Centauro, is now gone gold and and will be made available for sale and download later this week on their site for $25. They will also have bundle deal with the original game for $50.

The expansion pack will add ten new maps and missions to the original game, which is set in the North Africa campaign of WWII. Look for ten new vehicle units to be added to the main game as well.

1C Company has already announced plans for an expansion pack to their recent WWII RTS game Theatre of War 2. However that's not all they have planned for the franchise. Today they revealed plans for a new stand alone game, Theatre of War 2: Kursk 1943, that concentrates on one specific battle in the war.

The game will focus its attention on the Battle of Kursk, which took place over 49 days in 1943 between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. The game itself will feature 20 story-driven missions over two campaigns, over 40 types of military weaponary and more. Multilplayer will also be a part of the game and it will include a campaign generator as well. 1C Company boasts that Theatre of War 2: Kursk 1943 will be "one the most realistic simulation of modern battle ever played on a PC." Look for the game to be released sometime this fall.
