Demigod launches strong in latest top 10 best selling PC game list

Stardock may have had some multiplayer connection issues when Demigod was first released but the RTS-RPG title from developer Gas Powered Games still managed to have a strong first week in sales. The latest list of the top 10 best selling PC games in retail stores (via, as always, by the NPD Group) shows Demigod debuting at number three on the list for the week ending April 18 (that number does not include purchases of the game via Stardock's Impulse download service).

Old stand-bys World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King and The Sims 2 Double Deluxe claimed the number one and two spots, respectively.

2. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Electronic Arts
3. Demigod - Gas Powered Games/Stardock
4. Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor - Relic/THQ
5. Empire: Total War - Sega
6. Left 4 Dead - Valve
7. World Of Warcraft Battle Chest - Blizzard

9. The Sims 2 Apartment Life - Electronic Arts
10. Spore - Electronic Arts

Some shifting on NPD Group's top 10 PC game list

There was a lack of new PC games for the week ending April 4 which is why the NPD Group's list of the top 10 best selling PC games in US retail stores looks fairly familar. It's mostly shifting in positions with the top spot for EA's The Sims 2 Double Deluxe. Indeed that game and three Sims 2 expansion pack take up four of the top 10 spaces on the list this week with two older Sims 2 expansions showing back up again on the list.

1. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Electronic Arts

The Creative Assembly's latest RTS game Empire: Total War is doing extremely well for its publisher Sega. The title remains at the number one spot on NPD Group's latest list of the top 10 best selling PC games in retail stores, this time for the week ending March 14.

The rest of the list has a couple of other minor changes including the return of Spore to the top 10 list after its departure for one week.

Empire:Total War makes big debut on top 10 best selling PC game list

The first week of March saw The Creative Assembly's latest historical RTS game make a huge debut on top of the best seller list. According to the NPD Group, Empire Total War was the number one best selling PC game in US retail stores for the week that ended March 7. In addition the game's Special Forces Edition made the list in seventh place.

Warhammer Online
made a reappearance in the top 10 list this week at number 3 (thanks in part to a cut in its price). In fact there are quite a few changes in this week's list including the fact that Spore has departed the top 10 for the first time since its release last September.

1. Empire: Total War - The Creative Assembly/Sega
2. World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - Blizzard
3. Warhammer Online - Mythic/EA

F.E.A.R. 2 debuts strong on latest top 10 best selling PC games list

After several weeks of sheer bordom on the NPD Group's weekly list of the top 10 best selling PC games in US retail stores, the latest list (for the week ending on February 14) finally has an all new game that had a strong debut. Monolith's first person shooter sequel F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin started at the number 2 spot on the list in its first week of release.

The game still couldn't beat the Blizzard juggernaut. Their MMO expansion pack World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King remains at number one for the week. F.E,A.R 2's debut kicked off Valve's zombie shooter Left 4 Dead from the top 10 list this week. It's the first time that game hasn't been on the list since its release last November.

1. World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - Blizzard
2. F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin - Monolith/Warner Bros Interactive
3. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Electronic Arts
4. Spore - Electronic Arts
5. World of Warcraft Battle Chest - Blizzard
6. The Sims 2 Deluxe - Electronic Arts
7.World of Warcraft - Blizzard
8. Call Of Duty: World At War - Activision
9. Fallout 3 - Bethesda Softworks
10. The Sims 2 Apartment Life - Electronic Arts

Wrath of the Lich King stays atop NPD's top 10 best selling PC games

The first full week of February didn't yield much in the way of change for the NPD Group's latest list of the US top 10 best selling PC games in retail stores. Blizzard's MMO expansion pack World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King stayed on top of the list for the week ending February 7.

In fact the list is notable for what game isn't shown, namely Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box. Despite lots of hype the racing game port from Criterion Games failed to make the top 10 in terms of retail sales in its first week of release.

1. World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - Blizzard
2.The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Electronic Arts
3. Spore - Electronic Arts
4. World of Warcraft Battle Chest - Blizzard
5. Fallout 3 - Bethesda Softworks
6. World of Warcraft - Blizzard
7. Left 4 Dead - Valve/EA
8. Call Of Duty: World At War - Activision
9. The Sims 2 Apartment Life - Electronic Arts
10. The Sims 2 Deluxe - Electronic Arts

Wrath of the Lich King again on top of NPD's top 10 best selling PC games

The battle between World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King and The Sims 2 Double Deluxe for the top stop of the NPD Group's top 10 best selling PC game list continues. Wile EA's people sim was on top last week the latest list for the week ending Jan. 31 has Blizzard's MMO expansion at number one again.

Aside from that there are no new games on the list this week with just a few reshufflings to speak of compared to last week's list:

1. World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - Blizzard
2.The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Electronic Arts
3. Spore - Electronic Arts
4. Left 4 Dead - Valve/EA
5. World of Warcraft Battle Chest - Blizzard
6. Fallout 3 - Bethesda Softworks
7. World of Warcraft - Blizzard
8. The Sims 2 Apartment Life - Electronic Arts
9. Civilization IV - Firaxis/2K Games
10. Call Of Duty: World At War - Activision

Sims 2 Double Deluxe on top of latest top 10 best selling PC games list

The back and forth between World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King and The Sims 2 Double Deluxe for the top spot in the NPD Group's top 10 retail best selling PC games list continues. Electronic Arts' people sim is number one once again for the week ending January 24.

With no new major PC games due for release until this month the current NPD list is a matter of mostly "same-old, same-old". Indeed, Firaxis' Civilization IV, released way back in 2005, makes a reappearance on the list as its supplants World of Goo.

1. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Electronic Arts
2.World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - Blizzard
3. Spore - Electronic Arts
4.The Sims 2 Apartment Life - Electronic Arts
5. Fallout 3 - Bethesda Softworks
6. World of Warcraft Battle Chest - Blizzard
7. World of Warcraft - Blizzard
8. Left 4 Dead - Valve/EA
9. Civilization IV - Firaxis/2K Games
10. Call Of Duty: World At War - Activision

World of Goo makes appearance on NPD's top 10 PC games list

We know that the team at 2D Boy has had success with the downloadable version of their acclaimed puzzle game World of Goo. Now it appears that the game is reaching out to retail stores as well. The NPD Group's latest list of the top 10 best selling PC games in the US has the title show up at the number 10 spot for the week that ended Jan 17.

World of Goo
, which is being published in retail stores by Brighter Minds, replaces Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 on the list compared to the previous week. Otherwise there's little that has changed from the last list aside from a jump for Fallout 3 from 9th to 3rd place.

1. World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - Blizzard
2.The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Electronic Arts
3. Fallout 3 - Bethesda Softworks
4.World of Warcraft Battle Chest - Blizzard
5. Spore - Electronic Arts
6. Left 4 Dead - Valve/EA
7. The Sims 2 Apartment Life - Electronic Arts
8. World of Warcraft - Blizzard
9. Call Of Duty: World At War - Activision
10. World of Goo - 2D Boy/Brighter Minds

Lich King takes top spot again in latest NPD PC game best seller list

After a one week reign on the number one spot, The Sims 2 Double Deluxe has been pushed back to number two on the NPD Group's latest list of the top 10 best selling PC games in retail stores, this time for the week ending Jan. 10. Blizzard's MMO expansion World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King regained the number one spot.

The rest of the list is mostly a reshuffling of last week's list with one exception: Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 has reappeared on the list, most likely because of a recent price cut on EA's RTS game.

1. World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - Blizzard
2.The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Electronic Arts
3. Left 4 Dead - Valve/EA
4. Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 - Electronic Arts
5. Spore - Electronic Arts
6. World of Warcraft Battle Chest - Blizzard
7. The Sims 2 Apartment Life - Electronic Arts
8. World of Warcraft - Blizzard
9. Fallout 3 - Bethesda Softworks
10. Call Of Duty: World At War - Activision
