Fallout 3 trailer takes you deep into The Pitt


This trailer for the upcoming downloadable content expansion for Fallout 3 called "The Pitt" gives players an introduction into the plot. The Pitt takes players out of The Capital Wastelands in into the devastated area that used to be Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There, someone claims to have invented a cure for mutations. Players can choose how they wish to investigate the situation: armed to the teeth, disguised as a slave, or infiltrate as a slaver.

Fallout 3: The Pitt to be released March 24


If you have been waiting on a release date for the second downloadable expansion for Fallout 3, you are in luck. Today Bethesda Softworks announced that on March 24 you will be able to purchase and download The Pitt, the second of three announced content updates to their best selling RPG game.

As with the previous expansion Operation Anchorage, The Pitt will be available for PC owners only via the Games For Windows Live stand alone client and will cost 800 Microsoft points (about $10). As we have reported before this new installment takes place in the city of Pittsburgh and is supposed to be more like the standard Fallout 3 gameplay than Operation Anchorage which was more of a shooter experience. Bethesda has also released new screenshots from The Pitt that we have added to our gallery.

Download: Fallout 3 v1.4 Patch

This patch for Fallout 3 updates the game to v1.4. The patch paves the way for the upcoming The Pitt DLC and its new achievements. These manual patches can be used as an alternative to the Games for Windows Live auto update.

First screenshots from Fallout 3: The Pitt released


It's yet another busy day for reveals in PC game land. Bethesda Softworks have just released the first Internet screenshots from Fallout 3: The Pitt, the second of three announced downloadable expansions for their hit post-apocalypse RPG game.

As with their previous expansion Operation Anchorage, The Pitt will be made available exclusively via Microsoft's Games For Windows Live client. It will be released sometime this March for $9.99. As you can see from the screenshots the new expansion takes place in the ruined city of Pittsburgh. Bethesda Softworks also sent over a fact sheet on the game that you can check out after the jump.

Details about Fallout 3: The Pitt revealed


With Bethesda Softworks delaying the release of the second downloadable expansion for their hit RPG Fallout 3 until sometime in March, details about what will be contained in the DLC have just started to come out. Computer and Video Games reports that the second downloadable expansion, The Pitt, will take place in Fallout 3's version of Pittsburgh (get it?).

Set in a steel-making district, players will be able to explore a number of new areas in The Pitt. Not only that but it will have some new gameplay features such as taking on the role of a slave and doing more than just fighting with Raiders. As with last month's first DLC for Fallout 3, you can expect The Pitt to be made available via download from the Games For Windows Live client.
