Greed Corp coming to the PC this summer

Last year Amsterdam-based game developer W!Games announced Greed Corp, their unique strategy game where you can actually destroy land areas in addition to claiming them. The game was announced for the PC and other platforms last November and has since been released via download for both Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network.

Today it was revealed that the PC version is finally set for release sometime this summer. Publisher The Games Company will release the game to retail stores for the price of $19.99. The PC port will have some new features including a new tutorial, improved graphics, and an "improved campaign."

"Max is a young boy, and like most boys he loves to draw. One day he gets a mysterious marker in the mail. There is no letter attached – only the plain orange marker. Max decides to test it right away, sits down and starts drawing. He draws a monster but as soon as he finishes the lines on the paper start moving and to Max's great surprise the monster runs off the paper and into another drawing. Stunned Max now sees how the Monster messes around with his drawings. Max realizes that he has to stop the monster. So he draws himself on the same drawing that the monster is in and immediately finds himself inside the drawing."

Afterfall: Insanity announced

What is the Afterfall universe? We have no idea but apparently there's an upcoming horror themed first person shooter that's using this universe as its basis. European-based publisher The Games Company officially announced the game, titled Afterfall: Insanity, today.

The game takes place in the sewers and tunnels of Earth's cities after a nuclear holocaust occurs in October 2012 (better start preparing now). Your player character is a psychiatrist by trade who has to deal with lots of different threats, including mutants, mercs and others. The publisher is promising the game will have "unpredictable events, story twists and narrative nuances". That's all well and good but hopefully there will also be a fun game to play somewhere in there. It's scheduled for release in early 2011.

10tacle and TGC cancel acquisition deal

10tacle Studios AG has revealed its intent to cancel the planned acquisition of Berlin-based development and marketing firm The Games Company Worldwide (TGC). The original acquisition plan was announced in December 2007.

10tacle, famously known for the car simulation series GTR, has decided to cancel the acquisition so it may continue to restructure and better focus future business initiatives.

"With the reverse transaction we have taken a step in the interests of all parties involved," The Games Company CEO Markus Malti commented to Games Industry. "TGC can continue its successful work and 10tacle Studios AG are free to newly position their company strategically as planned."
