Back To The Future's next episode due for release next week

Back To The Future's third episode from developer Telltale Games has taken a little while to get here (the last episode was released via download on February 16) but in the company's latest online newsletter Telltale has announced that the third chapter of its movie-based adventure game will in fact be released next week for the PC and Mac.

The chapter is called Citizen Brown and has Marty heading back to an time altered 1986 where Doc Brown now rules over everything as, well, First Citizen Brown. It looks like Back to the Future's "season" will overlap with another Telltale movie based game as Jurassic Park's first episode is due for release in April.

The Silver Lining dev team responds to Telltale's King's Quest revival

The King's Quest series of classic adventure games is getting a new official installment via Telltale Games, as we reported on Friday. However, as some of you may know, a small amateur deve team had been working for a long time on their own revival of the series. In 2010 the first of five free episodes of the King's Quest-based game The Silver Lining was released by Phoenix Online Studios; the third episode was released last Thursday.

In a statement on the game's official web site, Phoenix Online Studios states, "We have heard about Telltale's announcement, and we're excited to see where it goes! It's great that the series will be getting an official continuation, and TTG has made some great adventure games that have been reviving not only classic franchises but the genre overall. We love the work they're doing, and of course our own game has been influenced by their episodic model." The statement adds that Phoenix Online Studios will release the remaining episodes of The Silver Lining as planned.

Fables episodic game from Telltale coming in early 2012

Telltale Games' last major announcement for the day concerns the previously revealed plans for adapting Fables, the acclaimed DC Comics-Vertigo Comics series created and written by Bill Willingham. The series, which recently reached its 100 issue (not counting spin-offs), deals with all of the fairy tale characters that children know and love in stories as they try to exist in our modern and real world.

Details on the game are still unannounced other than the fact that it will be a multiplatform release (a PC release seems likely) with the first episode due out in the first quarter of 2012.

Hector: Badge of Carnage coming to PC and Mac

Telltale Games continues its flood of info today with word that it will be releasing a PC and Mac version of Hector: Badge of Carnage. The first episode of the 2D animated (but still for adults) hardnosed cop point-and-click adventure game features the title character trying to solve a hostage situation. As you can see in the above screenshot there's a lot of death involved. The game was first released for the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad by Northern Irland-based developer Straandlooper.

Telltale will re-release the first episode for the PC and Mac this spring and will work with Straandlooper to bring two more downloadable episodes to the PC, Mac and iOS platforms later in 2011.

Puzzle Agent 2 revealed; due out this summer

Puzzle Agent was a "pilot" game for developer Telltale Games in 2010. Instead of a multi-chapter downloadable series, the game was a one-shot that mixed up elements of X-Files and Twin Peaks as the player follows Nelson Tethers, a special "puzzle" agent for the FBI solving mysterious cases.

Today, via our sister site Joystiq, Telltale Games has revealed that it is working on Puzzle Agent 2. Other than the game will be coming out for the PC and Mac (among other platforms) sometime this summer, no other details of the game were officially announced. Joystiq has a brief teaser trailer that you can check out at their site.

King's Quest to be officially revived by Telltale Games

King's Quest, one of the most popular and revered fantasy adventure game series of all time, will soon get an official revival courtesy of Telltale Games. As reported by our sister site Joystiq, Telltale has announced it has gotten the rights to create new episodic games based on the property. More details on Telltale's plans are due to be revealed at E3 in early June.

The King's Quest series started at Sierra Online and spanned eight games (not including spin-offs) from 1984 to 1998. All of the games were designed by Sierra Online co-founder Roberta Williams. Currently the rights to the King's Quest series are owned by Activision. It's currently unknown if Williams will be participating in this new revival.

In 2010, the development team Phoenix Online Studios started releasing their own free episodic continuation of the King's Quest series, The Silver Lining, after receiving permission by Activision to do so. The third episode in the five chapter series was released on Thursday.

The Walking Dead game coming in late 2011

The Walking Dead started as a hit comic book and later became a surprise TV series success in late 2010. But will the zombie-filled drama become a hit in the game industry? We will find out in the fourth quarter of 2011. IGN reports that's when the first episode of Telltale Games' adaptation will be released. Specific game platforms have not been announced yet but the PC is a safe bet considering Telltale's history with the platform. Telltale has also released a teaser image for the game which you can see above.

IGN chats with The Walking Dead's writer and co-creator Robert Kirkman about the game announcement. Unfortunately info on the game remains scarce. Kirkman does confirm that the game will be set in the comic book's universe rather than the AMC TV show. As far as what kind of game it will be like, Kirkman would only say, "The game is at an early stage, and we're in the process of mapping this all out now."

Jurassic Park episodic game due out in April; pre-orders begin

The much hyped episodic action-adventure game based on the Jurassic Park movies now has a release month. Telltale Games has launched the game's official web site and has started pre-orders for the full "season" of episodes. Normally the season would be sold for $34.95 but until the first episode is released in April 2011 the season will cost $29.95 to buy ahead of time. The game will be released for both the PC and Mac.

New screenshots from the game are also available to view on the site and GameTrailers.com has posted up the first gameplay footage from the title. You can see the trailer after the jump which shows us that the game takes place during the events of the first film; specifically, what happened to the shaving cream can filled with all those dino embryos?

The Walking Dead and Fables games coming from Telltale

Telltale Games has hinted that it will be announcing new game titles this month and now the Wall Street Journal's All Things Digital blog site has confirmed two of them. One is the much rumored adaptation of the zombie comic book (and TV series hit) The Walking Dead. The other is an adaptation of the DC Comics-Vertigo adult fairy tales comic Fables.

Along with the game announcement comes some inside info from the privately owned Telltale. The article reveals that the developer brought in $10 million in revenue in 2010 which is 90 percent more than what the company had in 2009. It expects to increase its revenues at about the same amount for 2010 while also increasing its employee count to 140 team members.

Back To The Future Episode 2, Get Tannen, released

In a very late announcement, developer Telltale Games has revealed that the second chapter of its five part Back to the Future adventure game series is now available for PC and Mac users. The second chapter is only available for folks who have purchased the full five episodes on the developer's official web site.

The second chapter is titled Get Tannen and deals with the consequences of the first episode where the timeline has been changed and the Tannen family is making things hard on the McFly family.
