Jurassic Park episodic game delayed to fall; pre-orders to get refund and free game

Telltale Games' plans to release the first of five planned episodes of its continuation of the Jurassic Park franchise this month has hit a snag and a rather big one (some might say T-Rex in size). In a post on the game's official message boards by Telltale's CEO Dan Conners, he states that while the development team was "excited" at the game's current progress in terms of mechanics and storytelling he added, " ... we feel we can push these elements to the next level if we spend some extra time working on them."

Yep, that means the first episode won't be coming out this month; indeed it's been pushed back to this fall for the PC and Mac which is when the console versions were also supposed to be released. People who pre-ordered the game before now will get a full refund of their money plus a free Telltale game of the buyer's choice. Refunds will begin to be given out over the next couple of days.

Back To The Future Episode 4 due out next week

Telltale Games will have at least two downloadable PC game releases next week. We have already reported that the first episode of Hector: Badge of Carnage will be out on April 27. Now the developer's Twitter page has revealed that episode four of its Back to the Future continuation will be released for the PC and Mac next week as well.

The episode, Double Visions, has Marty McFly teaming up with "First Citizen Brown" in an alternate 1986 to create an invention that is suppose to keep a younger version of Doc Brown from making a huge mistake. We assume that things won't be going according to plan as there is still one more episode left in Back to the Future's "season".

Hector Badge of Carnage Episode 1 due on April 27

Telltale Games has about 300 games in the works (ok, not really but it's a lot; trust us) and one of them is set for release next week. The first of three episodes for Hector: Badge of Carnage is set for release for the PC and Mac on April 27 for $9.99.

The two send up of British crime movies (previously released for the iPhone and iPad) is now available for pre-order on the game's official web site. Pre-orders come with a free copy of Telltale's Puzzle Agent game. Plus 10 percent of the revenues from this episode will go towards the earthquake relief efforts in Japan. The second and third episodes of Hector will be released later this fall.

Telltale Games to release Law and Order Los Angeles episodic game in 2011

Telltale Games has a ton of upcoming games on its plate already but apparently the episodic downloadable game developer wanted one more. today It announced that it will release an episodic game series based on the current TV crime show Law and Order Los Angeles.

This will be the third game that Telltale is making based on a property owned by Universal Studios (Back to the Future and the upcoming Jurassic Park are the other two). Other than the fact the game will be released sometime in 2011, details about the Law and Order: LA game have yet to be revealed.

First chapter of Back to the Future game released for free (not April Fool's)

This could be considered to be an April Fool's joke but Telltale Games assures us that this deal is indeed for real. The first chapter of the developer's five part Back to the Future downloadable adventure game series has now been released for free.

Yes, now you can check out the first episode of this unofficial sequel to the beloved movie trilogy as Marty Mcfly goes time traveling again, this time to the 1930's where he meets up with a younger version of Doc Brown. You will have to sign up for a free Telltale Games announce to download the first episode but aside from that the chapter is totally free and there's no time limit on this offer either. You can still order the entire five part series (chapter three was just released this week) for $24.99.

Back to the Future Episode 3 released

As promised earlier this week, Telltale Games has now released the third episode for Back to the Future for the PC and Mac as the developer continues its "sequel" to the classic sci-fi movie trilogy. This third episode is titled Citizen Brown and as you can see in the above screenshot Marty McFly has traveled to an alternate 1986 where Hill Valley has been taken over by a fascist version of his long time friend Doc Brown.

As we reported last week this episode also sees the return of Marty's girlfriend Jennifer Brown, voiced by Claudia Wells, who portrayed the character in the first Back to the Future movie.

New Jurassic Park trailers show more dino action

Even while Telltale Games is in the middle of its Back to the Future "season", it's also prepping up to release the first of five chapters for its upcoming Jurassic Park episodic game. This week IGN posted up a new trailer that shows a mix of developer commentary along with some new gameplay footage from the "dinosaurs in modern times" game.

The trailer shows the team at Telltale getting some help from a real paleontologist about what real dinosaurs were like, but it's clear that the game will take most of its inspiration from the film. The trailer also hints at the game's new dinosaur, a nocturnal based creature that hits its victims with a venom that causes hallucinations. The first chapter is due for release for the PC and Mac in April. You can check out the trailer after the jump:

Back To The Future's Claudia Wells returns to voice Jennifer in Telltale's next game chapter

The third chapter of Telltale Games's movie-based adventure game Back To The Future is due out via download for the PC and Mac next week and it shows our time traveling hero Marty McFly entering into yet another altered 1986 time line. However a new behind-the-scenes video for Episode 3, Citizen Brown, shows that another member from the movie's original cast is back voicing her role for the game, joining Christopher Lloyd's Doc Brown.

That happens to be Claudia Wells, who played Marty's girlfriend Jennifer Brown in the first movie in the trilogy (Elizabeth Shue took over the role for the final two films). In Citizen Brown, Jennifer is no longer Marty's girlfriend and indeed has a new look and attitude compared to her movie counterpart. You can check out the trailer after the jump:
