Call of Juarez: The Cartel announced

The Call of Juarez first person shooter franchise is getting a third installment later this summer titled Call of Juarez: The Cartel, thanks to developer Techland and publisher Ubisoft. While the first two games in the series (Call of Juarez and Call of Juarez Bound in Blood) took place in the American Wild West timeframe, Techland has decided to make a "Modern Warfare" move and set Call of Juarez: The Cartel in the present day.

Details are scarce at this point but the official press release for the game states that it will have a "gritty plot" and "interesting characters". The game chronicles what we can only assume will be a violent road trip from Los Angeles to Juarez, Mexico. More info on the game will be revealed in the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly's latest print magazine. By the way the game's press release specifically said the title would be coming to "Windows PC" despite the lack of a PC mention on the game's official web site.

nail'd trailer gets your blood pumping with adrenaline

nail'd is coming out in about a week, and the folk over at Techland really, really want you to play it. So do, apparently, the previews. This trailer gives us both a look at the nail'd gameplay (looking as arcade-like and fun as ever) as well as some of the kind words being said about the ATV racing game. We haven't gotten our hands on it quite yet, but if it's as good as this trailer and the mentioned previews say it is, it's going to be one of the best racing games in recent memory. If not, well, it'll be one major disappointment. Still, explosions!

Nail'd to offer free DLC code for US copies

The upcoming high-flying off-road racing game Nail'd is offering its US audience an nice extra when it's released on November 30. All copies of the Techland-developed game will get a code that will allow gamers to get some extra downloadable content to the title.

The DLC code will add four new tracks to the game along with a new gameplay mode called Detonator that has the racers passing around ticking bombs. The key is to not be holding one before it explodes. It will also add the Bomb Cup to the single player campaign with five new races. Finally the DLC code adds new parts for the bikes and ATVs and new driver suits.

Nail'd gets new web site and new November 30 release date

It's a game that's pretty much threatening to go under the radar in this busy holiday season but developer Techland and publisher Deep Silver are still planning to release the off-road racing game with the odd title nail'd sometime in 2010. Today the game got a newly revamped web site with more info, videos and screenshots showing the game in all of its high flying off-road stunt action.

While the game was supposed to be out this month, our siste site Joystiq is reporting that nail'd won't be making that stunt work. Instead the game is due out in the US on November 30 with a price point of $39.99 for the PC version.

Nail'd gets October 19 release date

We still find it funny that Techland, the Poland-based developer best known for its first person shooter titles like Chrome and the two games in the Call of Juarez series would make an off-road racing game. But they did and the result is Nail'd. The title was announced earlier this year by its publisher Deep Silver.

Now our sister site Joystiq has posted word that the game will be released on October 19 in the US and on October 22 in other parts of the world. We think we might enjoy this admittedly over-the-top racing experience. Now if we can just get Techland to give us some clues as to their long-in-development zombie game Dead Island we'd be really happy.

nail'd trailer gets harder, stronger, and faster

It's interesting when another developer aims their sights at a successful franchise. In this case, the target is PURE, the game is nail'd, and the developer is Techland. This trailer for is plenty indication of that, with its direct reference to Black Rock's latest offroad game. We can't say that we see trailers too often that attack, directly or indirectly, another game series, so this one is a bit refreshing! Even if it looks like more of the same to our uninitiated eyes.

Rumor: Has Dead Island finally got a publisher?

While developer Techland announced their new game, the ATV racing title Nail'd, earlier this week we have been waiting patiently to hear about an update for Dead Island, their long awaited zombie action game. Last July Techland said they had a publisher for the game but would not reveal which publisher had taken on the title.

Now an unsourced article at the German web site PCGames.de claims that Dead Island will now be published by Deep Silver. Perhaps not so coincidentally, they are also the official publishers for Nail'd. If true we would expect some kind of official announcement soon, perhaps at E3.

Techland announces new ATV racing game Nail'd

It's hard to believe that the development team behind the Call of Juarez first person shooters would switch to a totally new genre for their next game but Techland is doing just. Today they announced their plans for Nail'd, a ATV racing game that's due out in the fall of 2010.

The game, which will be published by Deep Silver, has already launched its web site with info, screenshots and the first trailer from the game. So what will make Nail'd so much different than other ATV-based racing games? Well the game's press release claims that before Nail'd "no other racing has ever featured such differences in altitude." We are guessing that means you will be catching a lot of air while driving the ATVs. Look for motorcycles and quads to join the ATVs and players will also be able to customize their rides with lots of different parts. There will be 16 total racing tracks in four different locations. And yes there's multiplayer support for up to 12 players.
