Monday starts a new work week and a new set of one day PC game sales. Here are the sales that we know of today.

Telltale Games begins holiday sales event with 50 percent off (almost) everything

Telltale Games has started a 30 day sales event on its web site that lasts until the end of the year. Each day there will be a special deal that might involve extra offers, free games or more. Today the special sales deal is for 50 percent off of everything in Telltale's online store. That includes downloadable games, DVD game collections, books, prints, clothes, music and more.

The 50 percent discount is applied to your purchases when you proceed to your online cart. The only real catch is that the sales deal does not apply to the just released game Poker Night at the Inventory nor to the upcoming Back to the Future episodic game.

Tales of Monkey Island just $4.95 this weekend

Today is Talk Like a Pirate Day where everyone is expected to join in and say stuff like "matey" with a straight face. It's also the time for some good PC games to get some price cuts. After we had posted up our sales for the current weekend on Friday afternoon, developer Telltale Games sent over word of an extra special sales offer.

From now until Monday you can get their five chapter adventure game Tales of Monkey Island for a mere $4.95 which is less than the normal price for one episode of the game. Keep in mind that LucasArts is also selling the two Monkey Island graphical remakes for 50 percent off this weekend.

Even more PC game sales start the week

Steam has already announced that this week will be a LucasArts PC game sales week but GamersGate also has its own week long PC game sales event. This week the PC game download site is offering deep price cuts on games related to pirates. Among the titles on sale for the next week are Age of Pirates 2 for $9.99, Tales of Monkey Island for $13.98 and Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island for $9.99.

Meanwhile, from now until 1 pm Eastern time on Tuesday, Direct2Drive has put King's Bounty: Gold Edition on sale for $11.25. The site also has a collection of Grand Theft Auto III, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas on sale for just $14.95.

Mac Steam client launches with over 50 games [Update]

The long awaited launch of the Mac Steam client is now available to download, but it looks like Valve, at least as of this news post, has yet to go live with the client's Mac Game Store. Our sister site Joystiq reports that Mac users can still purchase games via the official Steam web site.

At the moment there's not an official list of games for the Mac launch of Steam although it's looking like it could be as many as 50 titles could be available for Mac users. Many of them will be able to be downloaded for free if users have already bought the PC version of the game via Steam. We will update this post when we get a definitive list of launch titles for the Mac client.

Update: Valve has now turned on the big switch to the Mac game store and indeed well over 50 titles are available to download for Mac players. You can check out the full list of games after the jump. One note: Torchlight is now on sale for both the PC and Mac for just $9.99.

Report: LucasArts president departs [Update]

It looks like there's a big shake-up that occurred at publisher LucasArts. Citing unnamed sources, Kotaku reports that the company's president Darrell Rodriguez has departed from that position. Joining him are several members of his executive team, according to the report. The story does not make clear if Rodriguez resigned of his own accord or was asked to leave.

Rodriguez became president of LucasArts just over two years ago after previously holding the gig of chief operating officer at Electronic Arts' Los Angeles studio. In his tenure, Rodriguez made a lot of fans of LucasArts' classic adventure games happy by championing a graphical and audio revamp of The Secret of Monkey Island and giving Telltale Games the go-ahead to release the all new episodic Tales of Monkey Island.

Update: Kotaku is now reporting that Rodriguez did in fact resign from LucasArts but the reasons are still unknown. Jerry Bowerman, who has worked at Sierra Online And Electronic Arts and is currently a member of LucasArts' board of directors, is now leading the company while the search goes on for a permanent replacement.

Get Monkey Island game bundle for $19.95 until Friday

Telltale Games may be getting ready to launch a new game project soon but their last game Tales of Monkey Island was still their most popular title in the many episodic adventure game series the company has created. Now you can get the five part series plus the special edition of the very first Monkey Island game for a special price.

Telltale is selling the PC version of their own game and LucasArts' graphically upgraded The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition for just $19.95. This special bundle price is valid until Friday, May 7. Telltale is currently in the middle of their new Sam and Max series and have just announced their newest project Puzzle Agent.

GDC 2010: Telltale Games taking pre-orders for Tales of Monkey Island DVD

Even as Telltale Games was revealing the first info on their third season of Sam and Max, they also announced plans to release a collected DVD edition of their last episodic game, Tales of Monkey Island. This time the developer will offer folks a Standard and a Deluxe version of the collection which continued the classic LucasArts adventure series.

The $34.95 standard edition contains all five game episodes on one DVD along with some extras like a highlight reel with commentary from the development team, a production art gallery, trailers for the game, a collection of five "I Wonder What Happens" videos, a preview of Sam and Max Season 3 and more. The $49.95 Deluxe version contains the game and even more extras like a map of Gulf of Melange, a new card from the Voodoo Lady, a commemorative button and more. It also comes in a slipcase designed by Sam and Max creator Steve Purcell. The game collection will have both PC and Mac versions.
