If you are really into game music soundtracks then be prepared to get a flood of new music albums. Well known game music publisher Sumthing Else Music Works has announced an agreement to publish game soundtracks from past and current game titles from publisher THQ.

The agreement covers both CD and digital releases of the game soundtracks. Sumthing Else will release the music behind past THQ games such as Company of Heroes, Darksiders, Red Faction Guerrila, and Frontlines: Fuel of War. The agreement will also cover upcoming THQ game releases such as Red Faction Armageddon and Homefront.

Our own review of Dark Void, posted earlier this week, was somewhat mixed but everyone seem to agree that developer Airtight Games and publisher Capcom were lucky to get Bear McCreary to compose the third person game's music. This week it was announced the soundtrack album is set for release on February 9 vis Sumthing Else Music Works.

Best known for handling the music for the revived version of the Battlestar Galactica TV series, McCreary hand picked 80 minutes of music from the game to be put into the Dark Void soundtrack album. He also put in a bonus track, Theme from Dark Void (Mega Version). That 8-bit music track is being put into the upcoming downloadabe title Dark Void Zero.

Borderlands has proven itself to be a sleeper hit for Gearbox Software and 2K Games even in the midst of higher profile title releases this fall. Soon fans of the first person shooter game will be able to purchase its official soundtrack. As they do for a number of games, Sumthing Else Music is handling the publishing duties for the Borderlands soundtrack when it comes out on December 8 in stores and via iTunes.

The soundtrack features a number of tunes from various composers including Jesper Kyd, Sascha Dikiciyan, Cris Velasco and Raison Varner, Tim Larkin. Unfortunately, the catchy song "Aint No Rest For The Wicked," which was featured in the game's trailer and TV commercials, is not included.

Fans of game music scores are familiar with Sumthing Else Music Works, a music publisher that has released numerous game sountracks CDs, including the Halo series and others. Today publisher Capcom announced a new deal with Sumthing Else that will bring several of Capcom's game music soundtracks to consumers.

The games include titles that will be released for the PC including Bionic Commando, Street Fighter IV, Dark Void and Resident Evil 5. The deals include both physical CD distribution as well as digital sales of the soundtracks. There's no word yet on when the new Capcom game music soundtracks will be released.
