Download: Street Fighter IV Game Manual

Gamers that bought Street Fighter IV for PC via digital download outlets like Steam, Direct2Drive and Impulse were left to figure out the game's intricacies on their own, since none of them came with a user manual. Capcom is working to fix that problem by offering a downloadable SF4 manual in PDF format. Real warriors don't need a stinking manual, but we won't judge you for keeping a copy around just in case.

Review: Street Fighter IV

Capcom surprised the gaming community when it announced that Street Fighter IV would be releasing for the PC, a platform where head-to-head brawlers are near non-existent. Additionally, although the game uses the Games for Windows Live service for multiplayer and achievements, there is no cross-platform play with the Xbox 360 version, leaving the PC Street Fighter players as an isolated community. Yet, considering how the older Street Fighter games are among the most popular games on GameTap, maybe it shouldn't be so surprising that Street Fighter IV would have a PC release. Furthermore, it happens to be a fantastic fighting game.

Free Street Fighter II on GameTap

GameTap, like many other PC game download services, has the full PC version of Street Fighter IV available for download and purchase (and no, the game is not a part of their game library that can be played via their monthly subscription service). To celebrate, GameTap is offering one of the older games in the fighting series from Capcom to play for free.

The Flash-based browser game is Street Fighter II Championship Edition and can be accessed if you have a free GameTap account. There's no word yet on how long this promotion for Street Fighter IV will last nor how long we will have to wait until Street Fighter IV is added to GameTap's subscription service.

First Street Fighter IV PC details and screenshots revealed

It's been a long, long time since on of the big fighting game franchises has made an apperance on the PC but Capcom is still planning to release Street Fighter IV to our platform. While the publisher still hasn't revealed a release date for the PC port the Capcom Unity blog has revealed some new info on the new PC features.

The game itself will be a Games For Windows Live title which means support for things like achievements and voice chat. You can also expect higher resolution support and a way to switch the shaders on the game to look different. In addition to the game's normal look there will be art shaders for "Watercolor," "Poster," and "Sumi-e ink" styles. You can see two sets of examples of those shaders in our new screenshot gallery.

This "artistic" Street Fighter IV trailer features Seth and M. Bison (a.k.a. Vega in Japanese release). Unfortunately, there's more art than action here, but the full game should have a full throw down between these two boss characters. Street Fighter IV will release of consoles on February 12 and is expected to hit PC's at a later date.
