Rift Collector's Edition and pre-order items announced

Trion World's long-in-development fantasy MMO Rift is getting closer to its release and today the developer announced plans for a Collector's Edition of the game. In addition to the game itself the Collector's Edition will include three exclusive in-game items (the Ancient Tartagon Mount, the Collector's Satchel and the Bogling Wastrel). The Collector's Edition will also have extra items in the retail box; an 8 GB Flash drive with the Rift logo, the game's official soundtrack, a SteelSeries-made mouse pad and a hardcover collection of the recent Rift comic book mini-series The Telera Chronicles.

People who pre-order either the regular or Collector's Editions of the game can choose to get one of three in-game pets (Cockatrice Chick, Deep One Spawnling or Hellhound Pup) In addition, a number of retailers like Amazon.com, Best Buy, Steam, GameStop and Direct2Drive.are each offering their own extra in-game enhancement. SteelSeries to release Shift MMO gaming PC keyset

Earlier this year SteelSeries launched the Shift series of gaming PC keyboard featuring interchangeable keysets for different game. Today SteelSeries announced plans to release a new Shift keyset that's being designed specifically for MMO gaming.

SteelSeries states that the Shift MMO keyset is compatible with all current and major MMO games. It comes with 24 pre-mapped emotes and a "strategically placed push-to-talk key". Therer are also eight macro keys that are fully customizable and will allow MMO players to switch between PvE, PVP and raid settings for their characters with a single button push. The keyset is sold separately from the main Shift keyboard for $24.99.

More World of Warcraft Cataclysm peripheral coming from SteelSeries

Just a few days ago, SteelSeries announced plans to release a 14-button World of WarCraft Cataclysm mouse. Today the PC gaming peripheral maker announced even more products branded for the upcoming MMO expansion pack from Blizzard. Naturally these products will be on display at SteelSeries' booth at BlizzCon this weekend.

In addition to the mouse, SteelSeries will also release a keyset for its Shift gaming PC keyboard. It will also sell a full version of the Shift keyboard with the World of WarCraft Cataclysm keyset. In addition SteelSeries will sell three versions of its QCK gaming mouse pad, each with artwork depicting a World of Warcraft Cataclysm creature (Deathwing, Goblin and Worgen). All of these product will be put on sale at the same time the expansion pack is released on December 7.

SteelSeries and Gunnar announce new Scope gaming eyewear

You want to play, say, Fallout New Vegas for hours on end and you may have the best PC, the best keyboard, the best mouse and the best monitor available to play the RPG. But if your eyes get tired after hours of game time, none of that hardware really matters. SteelSeries and Gunnar Optiks have just announced plans to release some eyewear made especially for gaming.

The SteelSeries Scope has a lens tint that's designed "to filter out harsh light and reduce eyestrain." It also has " anti-reflective properties that cuts down on distracting glare and extraneous light" and also has a "larger lens for extended peripheral vision." Is it worth $99.99 to get these glasses wrapped around your head? We hope to get a pair for review.

Medal of Honor PC gaming peripherals announced by SteelSeries

While the ultimate sales success of Medal of Honor is still to be determined, Electronic Arts' just released modern military first person shooter revival is still getting some support from gaming PC peripheral maker SteelSeries. The company officially announced today its plans to release a bunch of products with Medal of Honor branding.

These include versions of their Xai gaming mouse, the QcK mousepad, and the 5Hv2 headset. In addition, there will also be Medal of Honor-branded versions of the 6Gv2 mechanical keyboard and the recently introduced Shift customizable keyboard and keyboard set. Aside from the Medal of Honor labeling and the custom keyset for the Shift keyboard, there doesn't appear to be any differences between these new products and the standard SteelSeries versions of the same items.

SteelSeries taking orders for StarCraft II keyboard and mouse pads

While Razer is releasing their own line of StarCraft II-branded PC game accessories, the folks at SteelSeries are not far behind. Today the company announced they are taking pre-orders for its previously revealed StarCraft II version of its ZBoard line of PC gaming keyboards.

The product will come with both a regular keyboard and a replaceable version designed specifically for use in StarCraft II. The limited edition product will sell for $69.99 and will be available the same day as StarCraft II's release on July 27. For people who already own a Zboard, the StarCraft II keyboard set up will also be made available separately for $24.99. In addition SteelSeries will sell two of its Qck Limited Edition mouse pads with artwork showing StarCraft II character Tychus Findlay and the Marauder unit.

SteelSeries and Gunner Optiks to team for new game-related eyewear products

Two of PC gaming's hardcore product companies have announced plans to team up to produce a new line of PC gaming-related products. SteelSeries, best known for their gaming PC mice, mousing pads and keyboards, will team with Gunner Optiks, who have come out with some gaming related eyewear.

The two companies will release a co-branded series of eyewear products that will "focus on comfort and improving the gamer's performance through reduced eye strain." Details of the new products and the line's released will be revealed in the next few months. In the meantime, the two companies will team up for marketing efforts at upcoming events such as this June's E3.

SteelSeries to release R.U.S.E. branded mouse and mouse pad

The open beta test for the upcoming WWII RTS game R.U.S.E. ended a couple of days ago but the game from developer Eugen Systems and publisher Ubisoft will be getting a boost in publicity with the announcement today of two R.U.S.E. branded products from SteelSeries. The PC gaming peripheral maker is planning to release both a R.U.S.E branded gaming PC mouse as well as a mouse pad.

The SteelSeries Xai Laser Mouse R.U.S.E. Edition, seen above, comes not only with a special look on the outside but also comes with a pre-configured profile setting for the game with input from Ubisoft. Additional profiles from pro gamers will be made available for download from the SteelSeries web site when the game ships in June. Also, the SteelSeries QcK Limited Edition (R.U.S.E.) mouse pad will feature official art and logos from the game. The mouse will sell for $89.99 while the mouse pad will sell for $14.99.

SteelSeries launches new gaming headsets and keyboard

The team at SteelSeries have announced plans to release new products for serious PC gamers, adding to their large number of gaming controllers, keyboards, pads and headsets. This time the focus is on the SteelSeries 7H, a new high end gaming headset. The regular version is available for pre-order now for $119.99 while a USB-connected version with support for 7.1 virtual surroud sound is also available for pre-order for $149.99.

Also announced today is the SteelSeries 6Gv2 gaming PC keyboard. It's basically a smaller version of their SteelSeries G7 keyboard without things like two USB connections, media controllers and audio ports. It's also available for pre-order for $99.99.
