Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games now available on Steam

As promised last week, LucasArts has released all five games in their Star Wars-themed Jedi Knight first person shooter series via Steam. The first two games (Dark Forces and Jedi Knight) are priced at $4.99 each with the Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith expansion pack priced at $2.99. The last two games in the series (Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy) are priced at $9.99 each. In addition you can get all five games in one big bundle for just $19.99.

In addition to the new releases, LucasArts has bundled four of their previous Steam adventure games into one collection. You can get Loom, The Dig, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis together for one low price of just $9.99.

Jedi Knight series coming to Steam next week

We were promised some kind of LucasArts related announcement on GameTrailersTV's latest episode and we got it. Revealed almost as a throwaway, it was announced that their Star Wars themed Jedi Knight FPS series would be making their debut on Steam beginning next week.

It's currently unknown if all four Jedi Knight games (Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy) will be making the move to Steam and what price point each game will have. The first two games in the series were developed internally by LucasArts while the final two were made by Raven Software using the Quake III engine. All four games are considered some of the best Star Wars PC games ever made.

We Love The 90s (For PC Games): 1994-1995

This week we've been going back in time to the last decade where cable TV was just starting to get original programming, the Boston Red Sox still had not won a World Series and the launch of Windows 95 revolutionized PC gaming.

Oh sure the latest version of Microsoft's OS was important for PC games in general but for gaming in particular it was a game-changer (no pun intended) as developers dumped off the world of making games for MS-DOS and embraced the Windows platform. But before then there were tons of great MS-DOS, Amiga and Mac games to play in both 1994 and 1995. As we look back on the 1990s in PC games we check out just some of the best titles to come from that era.

Feature: 10 great PC games that need a comeback

There are lots of PC games out there that are getting revived lately. We have seen the Fallout franchise get back on track with Bethesda Softworks' Fallout 3, The C&C: Red Alert RTS series got a new lease on life with Red Alert 3. Yet there are many other classic PC game franchises that are well known that perhaps could also get a second chance for the public.

Big Download has picked 10 such games that we think would be perfect for a publisher interested in introducing these franchises to a whole new audience. Of course, a lot will depend on which development team will handle these games but with a little bit of love, these titles are all prime candidates for a new coat of paint.
