Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games now available on Steam

As promised last week, LucasArts has released all five games in their Star Wars-themed Jedi Knight first person shooter series via Steam. The first two games (Dark Forces and Jedi Knight) are priced at $4.99 each with the Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith expansion pack priced at $2.99. The last two games in the series (Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy) are priced at $9.99 each. In addition you can get all five games in one big bundle for just $19.99.

In addition to the new releases, LucasArts has bundled four of their previous Steam adventure games into one collection. You can get Loom, The Dig, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis together for one low price of just $9.99.

Jedi Knight series coming to Steam next week

We were promised some kind of LucasArts related announcement on GameTrailersTV's latest episode and we got it. Revealed almost as a throwaway, it was announced that their Star Wars themed Jedi Knight FPS series would be making their debut on Steam beginning next week.

It's currently unknown if all four Jedi Knight games (Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy) will be making the move to Steam and what price point each game will have. The first two games in the series were developed internally by LucasArts while the final two were made by Raven Software using the Quake III engine. All four games are considered some of the best Star Wars PC games ever made.

Feature: The Top 10 Best LucasArts PC Games

With this week's announcement that LucasArts's classic PC game line-up would begin to be offered via Steam, many of our readers may not have played some of the truly terrific titles that were developed and/or published by the company that George Lucas himself founded.

We decided to go back and pick what we think are the top 10 best PC games made by LucasArts over the years. All of these games are worth getting and two of them will be available to download via Steam on Wednesday with the rest (hopefully) following suite in the weeks and months ahead. Since all of these games are great we couldn't really decided which ones were better than the others so we put them in order of their release.
