Spellforce 2: Faith In Destiny delayed to January 2011

A game that's been in developer for some time is getting delayed the week it was supposed to be released. Publisher JoWood announced today that Spellforce 2: Faith In Destiny, the stand alone expansion to the fantasy RTS-RPG game, will now be coming out in January 2011. The expansion was supposed to ship on Tuesday to stores in the US and Europe. No reason for the delay was announced.

This is just the latest delay for the game. The expansion pack was first announced way back in May 2009 for a winter 2009 release. In February of 2010, the expansion was "re-announced" for a second quarter 2010 release and finally got what appeared to be a firm November 30 release before today's announcement.

Spellforce 2: Faith In Destiny due for release November 30

How long has it been since the original Spellforce 2 was released? Try 2006. Even the game's first expansion pack, Dragon Storm, was released in 2007. So after all this time publisher JoWood is finally ready to release this second stand alone expansion pack to the fantasy RTS-RPG game.

Spellforce 2: Faith In Destiny is currently scheduled for release on November 30 and the game's newly launched web site has the details and screenshots on the expansion. It will include a new single player campaign, five factions, 10 different races and other new additions and features. If you can remember that far back to the last Spellforce 2 title, you might like this as well.

Spellforce 2: Faith In Destiny re-announced

Last May, publisher JoWood announced their plans to publish Spellforce 2: Faith In Destiny, the second expansion to the fantasy RPG-RTS hybrid game. Since there's been, well, nothing announced about the game and it missed its planned winter 2009 release date.

Today, JoWood basically re-announced their plans to publish the game, this time for the second quarter of 2010. They also released the game's first screenshots. Fans of the series can expect a new single player campaign featuring the player character dealing with a new threat against the game's setting of Eo. Look for new units, maps and creatures to fight in this expansion. In addition the game's graphics have supposedly gotten a revamp with better shader effects.
