DC Universe Online trailer makes you the next legend

DC Universe Online launches today, and those that decide to delve into the DC continuity with characters of their own will find a plethora of goodies awaiting them. This trailer doesn't really show any of that, though. It's mostly a pretty CGI trailer mixed with some normal gameplay footage, and while it's not that informative, it definitely gives us a good general feel of the game. DC Universe Online is a game that wants you to feel the weight of both combat and the story, and this trailer definitely gives that impression!

DC Universe Online trailer takes on mad scientists in the South Sea

Another trailer for DC Universe Online has popped up, and this time it's an alert zone! The zone in question is OOlong Island, a small island in the Sotuh Seas that appears to be swarming with androids and other experiments. WIth mad scientists, elemental research, and a grinning egg on spider legs, it certainly looks like an interesting - if unintentionally hilarious - alert zone. As with Blüdhaven, this appears to be a zone based around finding and eliminating one dagnerous superhuman more than anything else, although this alert zone is not quite so steeped in DC lore.

DC Universe Online trailer takes you to Blüdhaven

During the Infinite Crisis even in DC continuity, the supervillain Chemo was dropped on the city of Blüdhaven, Nightwing's home city. It has been a while since the devastation, and the city is filled with toxic waste and mutated creatures everywhere. The latest trailer for DC Universe Online explores the efforts of the DC universe to clean up Blüdhaven, and it gives a good look into the mechanics of alert zones. It's also interesting to note that both heroes and villains want to clean up the city. Are the villains out to rebuild so that they can re-establish a base of power within the city? Who knows!

Gran Turismo 5 to be made playable on PC? Well, kind of ...

It was one of the most long awaited games for the Playstation 3 console and late last month fans finally got to play the deep racing sim game Gran Turismo 5. But now it sounds like a part of the game will be playable on the PC, or at the very least on a PC's web browser.

According to translations from the Twitter page of Polyphony Digital's Kaz Yamauchi on the NeoGAF forums, he stated, "Monitoring B-spec races from a browser should be ready with an update early next year also." Just in case you are not familiar with the game, Gran Turismo 5's B-spec mode doesn't let players control the car directly but they can play the role of a racing crew chief as he orders the AI driver to pass other drivers, ordering the driver to make pit stops and more.

DC Universe Online delayed until early 2011

For every good announcement, it seems there must be an announced delay, cancellation, or some sort of bad news. While Cataclysm finally got its release date today, DC Universe Online got the blunt end of the delay stick. It's been pushed out until early 2011 to deal with feedback from the community, with no formalized month or date. The final release date will become more clear as the beta progresses and the developers get data from the beta players. Hopefully the data will include "release soon!"

On the bright side, the dates for the beta have been announced. Those who pre-order before November 15th will get beta access no later than November 30th, while those that pre-order after the 15th will get to play one week before the game's launch. The PS3 is also apparently getting a collector's edition with the same goodies as the PC edition, but that doesn't really concern PC players.

Free Medal of Honor game with upcoming Sony PC gaming headsets

There's a couple of things that are different about this story. One is that Sony planning to release a product specifically for PC gaming. Today it revealed its plans for the DR-GA500 and DR-GA200 headsets which it claims have been "designed in response to extensive user research that shows what different gamers want from the ideal headset."

Both products have 40mm drive units and a "triple enfolding design" for the gamer's head. Both also have a boom mike for all the chatting in games that the kids love. The DR-GA500 is the higher end headset with a Dolby Pro Logic IIx decoder for 7.1ch 3D surround effects support. There's no word yet on pricing or a specific release date but (and here's the second different thing) Sony says it will bundle a free copy of EA's upcoming Medal of Honor reboot with both headsets. That may make it worth getting just for that deal.

DC Universe Online confirmed for November 2 launch

Back in June, Sony Online stated that the long awaited super hero MMO DC Universe Online would be released sometime in November. However the publisher wasn't any more specific than that. This weekend at the DC Universe Online panel at the San Diego Comic-Con it was confirmed that the game would officially launch on November 2.

As we reported earlier this week, the game's official web site is taking beta applications right now. According to the game's official Facebook page it sound like the closed beta could begin sometime this coming week. Oh, you want to see that cool CGI trailer for DC Universe Online once again? No problem. Check it out after the jump:

Magic: The Gathering Tactics shows off online strategy

Download HD Video

Magic: The Gathering has made departures from its card game formula at times. For example, the action game Battlegrounds was a big change from the standard Magic: The Gathering gameplay. Wizards of the Coast and SOE have teamed up to one again make a game that doesn't stick to the cards. The result is Tactics, and it looks like a fusion of card game and strategy RPG (much like Metal Gear Ac!d on the PSP. If that's your thing, then this trailer will no doubt get you excited!

The Agency trailer pays homage to James Bond

The Agency has been missing in action for a while, but Sony has given the promising title a trailer treatment at this latest E3. Showing off some gameplay footage and distinctly James Bond-inspired artwork, it's looking better and better all the time. It also helps that this will be the first true espionage MMO, and that the gameplay will be more action-based than number crunching. Good stuff!

DC Universe Online trailer pushes player control

Looking for your next superhero fix? Champions Online or City of Heroes not giving you the action or hero power you want? DC Universe Online aims to fix that. As the trailer above shows, players will be able to choose between good and evil in the perpetual conflict between the two sides, and customize their characters and powers. The biggest draw, naturally, is the "star power" of the DC Universe characters, as they are what set this title apart from other superhero MMOs on the market, and the trailer certainly affirms that!
