Little activity in newest NPD top 10 PC game sales list

The NPD Group's latest list of the top 10 best selling PC games in retail stores is, well, boring with little change from the previous week's list. The list below is for the week that ended on May 30. However we expect the next week to see The Sims 3 on top of the list in its debut week:

1. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Electronic Arts
2. World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - Blizzard
3. Spore - Electronic Arts
4. World Of Warcraft Battle Chest - Blizzard
5. World Of Warcraft - Blizzard
6. Empire: Total War - Creative Assembly/Sega
7. Reel Deal Slots Adventure - Phantom EFX
8. Civilization IV: The Complete Edition - Firaxis/2K Games
9. The Sims 2 Apartment Life - Electronic Arts
10. Left 4 Dead - Valve

Fallout has a good week on the top 10 best selling PC gaming list

There's no stopping the Fallout franchise on the PC these days. For the past two weeks Interplay's Fallout Trilogy collection (featuring Fallout 1 and 2 plus Fallout Tactics) has appeared in the top 10 best selling PC games list (compiled, as always, by the NPD Group). This week the game remains on the list for a third straight week (at number 8) and Bethesda Softworks' revival, Fallout 3, reappears at number nine on the list.

Other than that the list is rather dull this week with no all new games appearing for the week that ended May 16:
1. World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - Blizzard
2. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Electronic Arts
3. Empire: Total War - Creative Assembly/Sega
4. World Of Warcraft Battle Chest - Blizzard
5. Left 4 Dead - Valve
6. Spore - Electronic Arts
7. World Of Warcraft - Blizzard
8. Fallout Trilogy - Interplay
9. Fallout 3 - Bethesda Softworks
10. The Sims 2 Apartment Life - Electronic Arts

Shifting of positions in latest NPD top 10 best selling PC game list

There's not much new to report in this week's latest top 10 best selling PC game list from the always reliable NPD Group. For the week that ended April 25 it was mostly just games that were previously on the list shifting their positions around. No new or returning games showed up on this week's list and no game departed from last week's list.

2. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Electronic Arts
3. World Of Warcraft Battle Chest - Blizzard
4. Left 4 Dead - Valve

7. Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor - Relic/THQ
8. World Of Warcraft - Blizzard
9. Spore - Electronic Arts
10. The Sims 2 Apartment Life - Electronic Arts

Relic and THQ's Company of Heroes WWII RTS series remains a popular one for PC gamers. The series now has a new installment, Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor, and that game made a strong debut at number 3 on the NPD Group's latest list of the top 10 best selling PC games sold in US retail stores.

The list has Blizzard's MMO expansion pack World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King on top once again for the week ending April 11. A couple of other games have made return appearances in the top 10 list as well:

Empire: Total War on top of March's best selling PC retail games

The NPD Group has just released their list of the top 20 best selling PC games in US retail stores for the month of March and it's not much of a shock to see Empire: Total War at the top of the list. The rest of the list has a lot of familiar names (Blizzard, Sims, etc) with just a few exceptions:

Wrath of the Lich King regains top position on NPD's top 10 PC game sales list

After three weeks of seeing Empire: Total War on top of the NPD Group's top 10 best selling PC games in US retail stores, the mighty 800 pound Blizzard gorilla regained the top spot for the latest NPD list. For the week that ended March 28, the MMO expansion World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King regained the number one position from the The Creative Assembly-Sega. historical RTS title. That game landed at the number two position this week.

Surprisingly, no new games appeared on the NPD list this week, despite the fact that a number of major new titles (Stormrise, Wheelman, Wanted: Weapons of Fate, Battleforge and The Last Remnant) shipped to stores for the PC during the week of March 28. Oddly enough, Battleforge seems to be doing much better as a downloadable title. IGN's official blog has the RTS game from Phenomic and EA as the number one best selling game for its release week on its Direct2Drive site and at number two for the week ending April 4.

1. World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - Blizzard
2. Empire: Total War - The Creative Assembly/Sega
3. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Electronic Arts
4. World of Warcraft Battle Chest - Blizzard
5. Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War II - THQ

Little has changed compare to last week's list but that will certainly not be the the case next week. The NPD Group will likely show one or more new games that were released in a flood of new titles.during the last full week of March

3. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Electronic Arts

Dawn of War II on top of latest best selling PC game retail sales list

With all of the issues with THQ's financial numbers lately, the publisher got some good news today via the NPD Group's latest list of the top 10 best selling PC games in US retail stores. The latest list for the week ending Feb. 21 had the long awaited RTS sequel Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War II taking the number one spot in its debut week on the charts.

The game from developer Relic displaced Blizzard's MMO expansion pack World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, at least for this week's from that number one sport. F.E.A.R. 2, which debuted last week at number two, went down to the eighth position this week and Crytek's Crysis Warhead re-entered the list at number 10. Fallout 3 and Call of Duty: World at War left the top 10 list this week.
