Total War: Shogun 2 gets Limited Edition with extras

Fans of The Creative Assembly's Total War RTS series have been looking forward to the release of Total War Shogun 2 on March 15. Today the game's publisher Sega has announced that the game will be coming out in two versions; the Standard Edition and the Limited Edition which will have extra content.

The extras include access to an exclusive clan, the Hattori Clan, along with being able to take part in the exclusive Nagashino battle scenario. Limited Edition owners will also get access to both a complete set of armor for your game's avatar as well as unnamed amount of extra XP for your online character. Pricing for the Limited Edition has yet to be announced.

Publisher Sega has already released two bundles of classic Sega Genesis games (or the Mega Drive as it's called in the UK) to the PC platform via Steam and other PC game download sites. Today Sega revealed that a third Genesis game bundle is on its way as a new patch of classic arcade titles will soon be made available to a new modern PC audience.

The games in this batch include Alien Storm, Bio Hazard Battle, Columns III, Decap Attack, Ecco The Tides of Time, ESWAT: City Under Siege, Flicky, Golden Axe II, Sonic The Hedgehog, Sword of Vermilion and Virtua Fighter 2. The pricing for the previous games were usually $2.99 each.

Get 20 free games with pre-order of Football Manager 2011 on Steam

Sega and Sports Interactive's Football Manager 2011 is one of many soccer/football management sim games you can buy this fall. However the publishing team at Sega is going all out to make getting their game a much bigger value. This week it was announced that pre-orders of Football Manager 2011 on Steam will net the user 20 free games.

Those 20 games will come from the two Sega Genesis Classic collections. The fact that each game included in this offer is sold separately for $2.99 each means that you will be getting free games valued for a total of close to $60 with your $39.99 pre-order of Football Manager 2011. You can see the full list of free games you will be getting after the jump:

Second batch of Sega Genesis games now on PC via Steam

Rumor: Shogun 2: Total War leaked?

It's hard to pull a leak after it burst (BP can tell you that) so it looks like the cat may be out of the bag concerning the next game in the Total War RTS franchise from developer The Creative Assembly and publisher Sega. A Turkish web site has apparently gone off the reservation by reporting that it was to be shown Shogun 2: Total War at E3 next month.

And if that's not enough, Voodoo Extreme has posted up what they have said is a full press fact sheet for the game which according to them is slated for a 2011 release. If true it would certainly be a "back to basics" move for the developer since the original Shogun: Total War was the first game in the series. It was released via published Electronic Arts way back in 2000.

Sega game bundle on top of Steam sales list this week

Getting over 20 games and DLC products in one shot was apparently too good to pass up for many Steam users this week. The $89.99 bundle of Sega PC game titles was the number one best selling product on Steam's latest weekly top 10 best seller list (according to revenue). The bundle topped the $15 Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package add-on when went down to the number two spot while the main game was in the number five position.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 gets the third spot this week while a 75 percent sale on Tropico 3 put that game in the number four position. The full list is below.

1. Sega Bundle - Sega
2. Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package - Infinity Ward/Activision
3. Battlefield Bad Company 2 - Digital Illusions/EA
4. Tropico 3 - Kalypso Games
5. Modern Warfare 2 - Infinity Ward/Activision
6. Left 4 Dead 2 - Valve
7. Killing Floor - Tripwire Interactive
8. Torchlight - Runic Games
9. Civilization IV Complete Collection - Firaxis/2K-Games
10. F.E.A.R. - Monolith/Timegate/Warner Bros Interactive
