Heroes Over Europe release in trouble

The WWII flying action game Heroes Over Europe has been planned as a 2009 release from Atari. However in a new filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, it appears there are some money snags that have popped up that will almost certainly affect its release.

In the filing made today, The title's co-publisher Red Mile Entertainment was sent a note from the game's developer Transmission Games (under its parent name IR Gurus) on Feb. 11. The note claimed that Red Mile had "failed to make a payment under such agreement in the amount of $281,000" to Transmission Games. As a result, the developer has terminated their agreement with Red Mile. Atari also sent Red Mile its own termination notice, saying it will no longer publish Heroes Over Europe.

Red Mile states it "disputes the grounds for termination" for Atari's side of things but that Atari's actions could affect Red Mile's operations. If they are unable to get more revenue or get a better line of credit within 30 days "the Company will likely cease operations." Red Mile is also the named publisher for a game based on Frank Miller's Sin City graphic novels. However aside from a few press releases about the game since it was first announced nearly two years ago there have been no details, screenshots or a announced developer for the game.
