Uprising, Red Alert 3's first stand alone expansion, continues the struggle between the Allies, Soviets and the Empire of the Rising Sun. The Allied faction turned out to be the global victor of the previous war. Now the Soviets are organizing an underground rebellion while the Empire undermines the new regime in its own way. With four mini campaigns, one dedicated to the story of Yuriko (the Empire's special psychic unit), new units and a Commander's Challenge mode topped off with some brand-new HD video sequences, this expansion packs in a good deal of gameplay for a low price.

The Creative Assembly's latest RTS game Empire: Total War is doing extremely well for its publisher Sega. The title remains at the number one spot on NPD Group's latest list of the top 10 best selling PC games in retail stores, this time for the week ending March 14.

The rest of the list has a couple of other minor changes including the return of Spore to the top 10 list after its departure for one week.

The first week of March saw The Creative Assembly's latest historical RTS game make a huge debut on top of the best seller list. According to the NPD Group, Empire Total War was the number one best selling PC game in US retail stores for the week that ended March 7. In addition the game's Special Forces Edition made the list in seventh place.

Warhammer Online made a reappearance in the top 10 list this week at number 3 (thanks in part to a cut in its price). In fact there are quite a few changes in this week's list including the fact that Spore has departed the top 10 for the first time since its release last September.

A little earlier than expected, Electronic Arts has now released Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 Uprising via its EA Store for download and purchase. The $19.95 title is only available (for now anyway) as a downloadable stand alone expansion pack to the 2008 alternate history RTS game. You can also download the game via Direct2Drive and on Gamestop's download site.

Just a reminder: The game features four small single player campaigns. Three of them have normal RTS missions (one for each of the game's factions) while the fourth is a unique mix of RTS and action-RPG featuring you playing the super-powered Yuriko Omega character. The game also features 50 Commander's Challenge missions, each with different objectives. Of course a C&C game wouldn't be complete without goofy live action cut-scenes and Uprising has them as well with "actors" like Ric Flair to entertain you.

This patch updates the US release of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 to v1.08 and includes all fixes from previous patches. The patch brings in a number of different balance changes. Continue reading after the jump for full patch notes.

This patch updates Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 to v1.07 and addresses a specific issue with the Steam version that prevents access to the Worldbuilder tool. Users are encouraged to use the autopatching system, but can download the patch directly if it doesn't work. Patch includes all fixes from previous versions.

Much like they did with the launch of Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3, Electronic Arts has flooded YouTube with a ton of brief videos. They show some of the live action cut-scene actors from the upcoming downloadable game Red Alert 3 Uprising. All of the videos have a Valentine's Day theme.

While the actresses in the videos are playing their parts, the videos with Ric Flair have the legendary pro wrestler playing himself, or at least his wrestling persona, and not his Uprising character of Commander Hill. In any case you can surf YouTube and find a ton of these mini-movies for your pleasure..if you know what we mean and we think you do.

Those having trouble creating maps using the Red Alert 3 Worldbuilder might be interested in this fan made application - a Map Generator tool. With it, a randomly generated multiplayer map is just a few clicks away. Be aware that this tool was made by RA3 fan Kos4u2c and is not supported by EA, so download at your own risk.

While most games use either CGI or their own game engine for their cut scenes, Electronic Arts still used real live actors for the cut-scenes in their Command & Conquer RTS game franchise. Even though it will be a downloadable only game, that tradition continues in the latest entry, C&C Red Alert 3 Uprising.

There's a couple of returning favorites in the new Uprising cast, along with some new faces. Those additions include a classically trained actor who has prior experience in a EA game with cut-scenes, two actresses who had roles in the TV show Prison Break and an actor who makes his true action debut after a long career in pro wrestling

In this short Command & Conquer Battlecast gives a run through of the cast of actors that will be appearing in Red Alert 3 - Uprising. Among the celebrities is former pro wrestler, Ric Flair, who has his first encounter with a Soviet War Bear during his interview.
