Download: FLOCK! Official Game Soundtrack

This is the official soundtrack to FLOCK!, the casual physics-based puzzle game where players use flying saucers to herd animals back to the mothership (or Motherflocker, as the game calls it). Now you can enjoy the sounds of flocking wherever you go. Capcom and developers Proper Games made the soundtrack available in OGG file format, which requires a codec to be installed in order to play in Windows Media Player or iTunes. We've taken the liberty of converting the files to 320 Kbps MP3 files and offering them as an alternative to installing a codec. The FLOCK! game demo can be downloaded here.

Capcom to sell Flock collectible playset set Thursday

With the full PC version of Flock now available to purchase and download via several outlets today, the game's publisher Capcom is offering an interesting little side item based on the quirky puzzle game. It's a limited edition playset that features the game's mothership and detachable saucer along with pairs of the game's cartoony farm animals (sheep, pigs, chicks and roosters).

The Capcom online store will be the only place you will be able to buy the Flock playset which Capcom says will be available in limited quantities. It goes on sale on Thursday beginning at 3 pm PT (6 pm ET). The price has yet to be announced.

Flock now due for release in April; PC gamers still waiting for Age of Booty

Capcom's downloadable game program hit a delay with their next release Flock. Originally scheduled for release in January, the title is now set for release for the PC on April 7 with console releases later that week, according to a new article on IGN. Developed by Proper Games, this Lemmings-style action-puzzle title will have players herding animals over to a waiting UFO.

Meanwhile PC gamers are still waiting for Capcom to give them their booty; that is, their copy of Age of Booty, the pirate themed strategy game from developer Certain Affinity. Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game have been out for those platforms for several months now but PC owners, who got to play a beta version last fall, have been left in the lurch. The last word is that the PC version would be out by the end of this month but it now looks unlikely like that will happen.

New Flock screenshots flock out from Capcom

Capcom continues their media burst from CES today with a whopping 25 new screenshots from Flock, their first downloadable game for 2009. The game from developer Proper Games is due out this February and looks to be something that's out of the norm for a Capcom published title.

As we have mentioned before your task is your herd a number of farm animals, Lemmings-style, into a UFO through a series of puzzle-filled levels. While the game is scheduled for release next month there's been no word yet on pricing. We just hope Capcom released the PC version in a more timely manner than they did with the PC release of Age of Booty...which we are still waiting on, by the way.

Flock to be herded in January

Capcom's plan to release downloadable game titles continues in January. In a mention on the Official Playstation blog site, Capcom's John Diamonon casually mentions that they plan to release their next downloadable title, Flock, sometime in January . This is a change from the game's previous "holiday" release time frame. The Lemmings-like title is being developed by Proper Games.

Just as a reminder, the game is planned for release on the PC and other platforms. It's premise is that you are in charge of a space ship that has to herd various farm animal inside the ship. These animals must be guided through a series of puzzles in order to reach their destination. The game uses physics to let the player do things like use a tractor beam to move obstacles out of the animals' path. There will also be co-op play and a level editor for those who want to make their own puzzles.

In fact the game sounds a lot like Lemmings. Its premise is that you are in charge of a space ship that has to herd various farm animal inside the ship. These animals must be guided through a series of puzzles in order to reach their destination. The game uses physics to let the player do things like use a tractor beam to move obstacles out of the animals' path.
