The Toy Soldiers Map Pack for F.E.A.R. 2 multiplayer is available for PC players for free. In it, players are shrunken down to the micro sizes so everything in the world looks gigantic. More maps will be released in the summer.

The F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin "Toy Soldiers" map pack allows players to experience multiplayer from a terrifying new perspective as they are reduced in size to be only inches tall and battle inside a pinball machine, a gruesome hospital lab room, and a playground sandbox.
  • FullTilt: Players battle inside a retro 1970s era pinball machine "Snake Fist" style as they use flippers, targets, spinners and pop-bumpers for cover in fast paced action. The multi-level playfield and authentic sounds set the mood for destruction.
  • Cockroach: Featuring a blood drenched hospital room filled with heart pounding action, players can climb up electrical cords, laboratory equipment and pill bottles in a tightly connected environment.
  • Recess: Players wage mayhem from the top of a giant sandcastle to the cockpit of a toy bulldozer.

Feature: Know your F.E.A.R.

The recently released F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin ties heavily into the events of the F.E.A.R. game. Although a number of videos were produced to help get both experienced and new players up to speed on the story, they only provide a small glimpse of what went on. We present to you a complete walkthrough of the original F.E.A.R.'s story and characters to get players up to speed and prepare them for F.E.A.R. 2.

Be warned: The following feature contains spoilers, mature subject matter, and images that some may find objectionable. Click on the image above or the gallery link below to continue.

Review: F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin starts shortly before the first F.E.A.R.'s explosive ending. This time you play as Becket, a Delta Force team member who is sent to a different part of the city, but gets caught up in the aftermath of the first game. Also, events in the game put you onto Alma's radar, who uses her considerable psychic might to mess with your mind and wreak havoc. Then there's the army of supersoldier clones and Armacham's own cleanup crew sent in to wipe out all evidence of what went on, including you. Altogether, it's everything we expect from a F.E.A.R. game ramped up a few extra notches. However, even with the improved graphics, new creatures and extra bloodshed, the game doesn't deliver the same chilling mood the first game did.

New F.E.A.R. 2 trailer provides vital intel

The original F.E.A.R. released way back in 2005, so it's quite understandable if people are a little bit fuzzy on what happened. This new trailer gets players up to speed on the goings on of this city decimated by a powerful psychic little girl named Alma in time to take on F.E.A.R. 2. The F.E.A.R. 2 demo can be downloaded here.

Fear Away commercial helps chase away the horror

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin is taking a very unique approach to marketing itself. With this mock commercial, the fictional company Armacham is selling a product call "Fear Away" to help calm nerves and horrific visions that might follow a F.E.A.R. 2 gaming session. Judging from this advertisement alone, we suspect the product would do wonders for gamers' psychological well-being. Be advised, although there's nothing explicit, you probably won't want to watch this video if you're at work. More info can be found at www.armacham.com.
