Pokemon on PC? Well, sort of.

Those weird battling Pokemon creatures will soon have a PC connection. The casual turn-based battle action game that been a staple on Nintendo's portable game systems over the years will soon have a PC connection.

As reported by our sister site Joystiq, the next game in the series, Pokemon Black and While, will have features that will allow the Nintendo DS to link up to the PC via the Pokemon Global Link web site. Players will be able get additional Pokemon creatures along with tracking of the player's stats, a worldwide ranking system and more. The game is due out in early March and the Global Link site is due out later this spring.

Phallic Spore creature de-inspires faith in humanity

The website belonging to the magazine Computer and Video Games is hosting a handful of videos of exceptional creatures created in the Spore Creature Creator. There are some great ones -- a spot-on Pikachu, for example. But if Pokémon isn't sophomoric enough for you, we'll warn you that there are seedier alternatives. Like, say ... huge walking male genitalia. Hey, we warned you, okay? The disturbing part is that YouTube is now filled with videos of Spore penises. Oy.

Some are completely innocuous, though, like a carefully created dragon (also from Pokémon, apparently). If you've made an awesome Spore creature, we suggest you show it to us, not just YouTube. That way, you get cool prizes. Just a thought. But please try to keep your head out of the gutter!
