Yet another streaming game service reveals its plans
We've heard from OnLive and we have heard from Gaikai but today another proposed streaming game service announced they have started a pilot program of their own. The company is called Playcast Media and in a new press release today they stated that they have teams up with the Israeli cable network called Hot for their "large scale pilot launch"Details on their system and their pilot program are still rather vague with the press release stating that Playcast is delivering "PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 quality games" on their streaming service via the Hot cable TV network. However, specific games and publishers are not named in the announcement. Playcast states that a full rollout of their service will occur on the Hot cable network after the pilot program is complete but no specifics on when that will occur are mentioned. Finally, Playcast states they are in "advanced evaluation phases" with a number of cable TV networks in the US, Europe and Asia with expected launches in those territories in 2010. But again no specifics on which cable TV companies are involved are mentioned in the press release. All in all, we will have to be a bit skeptical on Playcast's plans until they provide more info.
