Super Meat Boy adding PETA's Super Tofu Boy in next PC update

Super Meat Boy for the PC will be getting a second update later today but unlike Wednesday's patch release, this update for the fun arcade platformer will have some new content. Namely, Super Tofu Boy, a new playable character based on the free parody game that the PETA organization launched on Wednesday. The update should go live later today.

Even though developer Team Meat loves the fact that PETA decided to make a parody of its game, it clearly doesn't care for PETA itself. In a post on the game' official web site, Team Meat states says that the whole point of Super Tofu Boy is rendered moot because " ... Meat Boy isn't made of animal meat, he's simply a boy without skin whos name is Meat Boy.. but sshh don't tell them that."

The Sims 3 wins PETA "Proggy" award

The often controversial animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have decided to give one of their annual "Proggy" awards to The Sims 3. Electronic Arts' people sim sequel was given the Most Animal-Friendly Game 2009 Award by PETA for its ability to let players create Sims that are vegetarians only. In fact PETA claims that the game's vegan Sims "can even become ill if another Sim serves them meat by accident."

According to a story at Gamasutra, PETA's award to The Sims 3 continues their fairly radical look at animal rights, saying, "by portraying vegetarians in a positive way, other players might be encouraged to give animals a break and stop eating them."
