Valve's Steam service isn't just for hardcore games like Left 4 Dead. The download service also has a lot of casual titles. Today it was announced.that Steam has added Her Interactive to its list of publisher and will provide Steam with a number of games in their popular Nancy Drew series of adventure titles.

The new arrangement begins today with six titles including Nancy Drew Dossier: Lights, Camera, Curses!, Nancy Drew: The White Wolf of Icicle Creek, Nancy Drew: Phantom of Venice and Nancy Drew: The Creature of Kapu Cave. Two of the titles, Nancy Drew: The Haunting of Castle Malloy and Nancy Drew: Legend of the Crystal Skull, will have a 20 percent price cut until July 23. In addition, Nancy Drew: The Phantom of Venice has had its price cut by 50 percent until July 23.

Update: The addition of the Nancy Drew games to Steam is apparently part of an overall launch of a Family Games section for the download service. Quite a number of the games in the category are on sale. Included is a Mumbo Jumbo games collection which currently has 19 games available for just $19.99. That's a savings of nearly $170 if each game was bought separately

This week's release of the top 10 best selling PC games list in the US (offered as always by the NPD Group) may seem familiar as it mostly has the same games (slightly switched around in position) as last week's list. The only major change is that the PC port of Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway has departed the top 10 after its debut last week.

After over a month, EA's Spore continues to top the list and we suspect the game will stay there until the release of Blizzard's expansion pack World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King. In the meantime here is the currently list for the top PC games for the week ending Oct. 18.

The NPD Group's weekly list of the top 10 best selling PC games in retail stores just got released for the week ending August 16 and, well, it's bascially the same as last week with a few shifted positions. We should get some new games beginning in September when the flood of new titles comes out and . . . hey, there's a nifty gallery feature here at Big Download that goes over all of those games. We are in the summer doldrums when it comes to new PC games being released but that will soon change as we enter the fall/holiday shopping season. In the meantime, the latest list of the top 10 best selling PC games in the US (courtesy, as always from the NPD Group) for the week ending August 2 shows no new games on the list.

There have been some shifts in positions in the game's listings but for the most part it's a pretty boring list this week, full of Sims and Blizzard products. So for your info here is what is selling the most on retail shelves this week:

Her Interactive's Nancy Drew adventure games continue to sell well and the latest entry in the budget series, Nancy Drew: The Phantom Of Venice, managed to get ahead of The Sims, Spore and Diablo as the new number one best selling PC game in the US for the week of July 12.

The list, which as usual is released by the NPD Group, isn't that much different than last week's list with Nancy Drew being the only real exception. Blizzard's Diablo Battle Chest collection continues to ride on the Diablo III announcement; it appears this week at number four on the list. The Spore Creature Creator is number two on the list this week, preparing the road for when the full Spore game will likely claim a lengthy time on the NPD list in September.

This week the Capcom love keeps rolling in with the PC release of Devil May Cry 4. Previously released on the Xbox 360 and PS3, DMC4 follows the story of new character, Nero, and his powerful demonic arm. We know what you're thinking, when did Devil May Cry go realistic?! Well, luckily Dante and his famous duo pistols are returning to bring the series back to its roots. On the other side of the fence is Nancy Drew: The Phantom of Venice to cure that mystery-adventure itch. While the week might seem a little light on releases, Devil May Cry 4 is sure to excite some gamers. We just hope this port is better than Resident Evil 4, you know, the one without an option to exit!
