Martha Quinn "hosts" Mumbo Jumbo's The 80's Game

Ah, the 80s. Some of you reading this were not even born when the decade that gave us MTV, John Hughes films and RoboCop showed up. Now casual game publisher Mumbo Jumbo has announced plans to release a PC trivia title called (what else) The 80's Game.

While details are scarce, we do know that there will be over 3,000 questions in this game covering all aspects of pop culture in the 10 years that brought us Charles in Charge. It's also "hosted" by one of the first MTV VJays Martha Quinn (you known, when MTV was actually about music). There's no word yet of a release date or cost.

Big Download's News Bits & Bytes - July 19

Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote, "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." So in that spirit we are trying out a new idea here at Big Download. Every day we will have a news post that will cover bits of PC gaming news that, while we think are interesting, perhaps don't quite rate a news post on their own. If you like it, feel free to let us know. If you don't, feel free to let us know that too.

Braid PC heading to retail stores

Earlier this month Torchlight, the acclaimed downloadable action-RPG from Runic Games, made its retail brick-and-mortar debut in stores. Now another game that was previously available only via download is being made available in stores as well.

This time its the PC version of Braid, the critically acclaimed puzzle-platformer from designer Jonathan Blow. The PC download able version was first made available last April. MumboJumbo, the well known casual game developer/publisher, is handling the retail release of Braid which should happen sometime later this month. So if you can't handle downloading a game and have to buy your titles in a store, you can count on Braid to be made available at Wal Mart and other outlets for $19.99.
