City of Heroes news; New Mission Architect slots for sale and Comic-Con plans

It's a busy week of news for NCsoft's super hero MMO City of Heroes. Today the publisher announced that players who want to add additional story slots for their Mission Architect creations can do so. There is a catch; you will have to pay extra for those slots. Up to eight additional story slots can be purchased per account. Each slot cost $5.99. You can buy two for $9.99 or go nuts and buy five slots for $19.99.

NCsoft also announced the company's plans to attend the sold out San Diego Comic-Con later this month. If you already have your tickets you can go to the NCsoft booth to meet with members of the Paragon Studios dev team, be entered into a drawing to see your City of Heroes character drawn in comic-book form, and get a code for an exclusive in-game character temp power costume, Knives of Artemis. Look for a City of Heroes panel to be held at Comic-Con on July 25.

Review: City of Heroes Issue 14 Mission Architect

Issue 14, the latest free content for City of Heroes, released last week making it the first MMO that allows users to create their own custom content and story arcs. With the straightforward title Architect, this issue takes a unique approach to content expansion by putting all the power into players' hands and imaginations. The update focuses exclusively on bringing players the Mission Architect tool, which gives player access to every map, character and scripted event available in the game. In effect, by offering one major feature, City of Heroes released the biggest content expansion it or any other game has ever seen.
