Capcom held its annual big press event this past week (in no less a location than Hawaii). While we did not attend, it looks like those media sites that did are under embargo until Tuesday. However it looks like some details from the event are starting to slip out anyway. One of them comes from PlanetXbox360.com which claims Capcom announced plans for Bionic Commando Rearmed 2.

The original game, released in 2008, was basically a 2.5D remake of the first side-scroller Bionic Commando game with some updated graphics and features. So any sequel to that title would likely be an all new game. Oddly enough, the development team behind Bionic Commando Rearmed at the now defunct GRIN has just announced their reformation as Might and Delight. Coincidence?

While the major revival of Bionic Commando wasn't a big financial success, the downloadable remake of the original game as Bionic Commando Rearmed was both a critical and sales success. Now the team responsible for that game has formed their own development studio in Sweden, Might&Delight (or Might and Delight; they seem to go by both monikers).

The team was formerly part of GRIN which shut down operations just after the release of Bionic Commando. While the team isn't talking about their first project under their new organization they seem to hint it will be some kind of downloadable release with a retro bend. Hmmm . . .sounds familiar.
