Medal of Honor trailer talks about the meaning of leadership

The Medal of Honor Tier 1 interview series continues, and this installment covers one of the most important aspects of any military operation: leadership. Once again, an anonymous Tier 1 operative gives insight into the military world for those of us that haven't served. It's fairly straightforward, with most of the discussion being things we've heard before, albeit in a slightly different way. The most interesting part is the advice given: true leadership comes about when you deal with people who need to be led, rather than those who want to be led.

New Medal of Honor actually a sequel to WWII games? Well, sort of

Much has been made of the fact that Electronic Arts' new Medal of Honor game is the first game in the first person shooter franchise that takes place in the modern day with US forces fighting in Afghanistan. But as it turns out there's a more direct link between the new game and the previous Medal of Honor game titles that were all set in World War II.

According to USA Today's Game Hunters blog site the character of Sgt. Jim Patterson, which your character meets in the new Medal of Honor game, is supposed to be the grandson of Lt. Jimmy Patterson. Lt. Patterson appeared in the very first Medal of Honor game for the Playstation 1 way back in 1999 and has made appearances in at least two other games in the series since then.

Medal of Honor PC multiplayer patch released via auto-updater

Electronic Arts is wasting no time in releasing its first PC patch for its just launched first person shooter Medal of Honor. The patch, which can be accessed via the game's auto-updater, is just for the multiplayer portion of the game that was developed by Digital Illusions.

The patch notes go over the bug fixes contained in the multiplayer patch including fixing a crash that might happen while switching weapons while in DirectX 9 graphics mode. There are also several fixes made for the game's server browser and improvements for the ping numbers reported in the game have been put in. The game will also tell you if a multiplayer server is full.

Medal of Honor sales "great" so far, says EA

So how high are the sales figures for Medal of Honor? According to Electronic Arts in a new press release, sales have been "great" since the first person shooter revival shipped to stores in the US earlier this week. EA claims that "retail response has been overwhelmingly positive" to Medal of Honor in the US, adding that sales are "already exceeding their Day 1 forecasts" at unnamed but "major" retail chain stores.

On Wednesday, EA's stock price went down sharply as investors felt that Medal of Honor's rather average review scores will translate into lower than expected sales for the game. EA still has not reveal specific sales numbers for the game.

Medal of Honor PC gaming peripherals announced by SteelSeries

While the ultimate sales success of Medal of Honor is still to be determined, Electronic Arts' just released modern military first person shooter revival is still getting some support from gaming PC peripheral maker SteelSeries. The company officially announced today its plans to release a bunch of products with Medal of Honor branding.

These include versions of their Xai gaming mouse, the QcK mousepad, and the 5Hv2 headset. In addition, there will also be Medal of Honor-branded versions of the 6Gv2 mechanical keyboard and the recently introduced Shift customizable keyboard and keyboard set. Aside from the Medal of Honor labeling and the custom keyset for the Shift keyboard, there doesn't appear to be any differences between these new products and the standard SteelSeries versions of the same items.
