LEGO Star Wars 3 trailer loses a limb

This trailer for LEGO Star Wars 3 has it all. And by "it all," we actually mean a humorous skit involving a poor trooper losing his arm and fighting against enemy droids. It's not really much in terms of explaining the game, but it certainly gets across the humor of the franchise. So while we aren't that interested, those that want a quick laugh with some safe humor will love this trailer.

LEGO Star Wars III trailer fights for precious blocks

Not city blocks, but LEGO blocks. This trailer for LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is everything we expect from a launch trailer: cinematics interspersed with shots of the game while not actually giving away information on how it is played. However, it does show off the most important part of this game. The battlefield sections are the most intriguing to us, especially give the fusion of strategy and action mechanics. There's also plenty of shots of the characters from the TV show, although they never actually talk beyond simple vocalizations.

We've been looking forward to playing Lego Star Wars III The Clone Wars but it looks like the latest game in the long running family friendly Star Wars game series is going to take a little longer to complete.

The game from developer Traveller's Tales and publisher LucasArts was supposed to be released last fall but the release date got pushed back to February 15. Now Gamershell reports that the game will be delayed a few more weeks to March 22. This new date has been confirmed as the GameStop and Amazon.com web sites that now reflect the new shipping date. No specific reason for the delay was announced.

LEGO Star Wars 3 trailer goes to the voice acting studio

The LEGO games are known for their child-friendly humor, and LEGO Star Wars 3 isn't breaking this tradition. We know this because of this trailer, which shows off all of the voice actors from the TV show doing the things they do best: voice acting. If you were worried about your favorite character's voices being replaced, then this will come as a relief. Just don't expect the tone to be the same! This is a LEGO game, after all.

LEGO Star Wars III trailer takes us to the battlefield

It seems that more and more games are making the leap from action genres to strategy-action hybrids. Games like Warsoup, Natural Selection 2, and now LEGO Star Wars III. This trailer gives a glimpse into the new gameplay tweaks done to the LEGO Star Wars formula, and they've made us significantly more excited to get our hands on the game. In short, gameplay is now more than just working your way through a cutesy, linear level. Rather you must establish bases and destroy enemy installations as you seek to dominate the battlefield. All while on the ground, mixing it up in the thick of things! It reminds us of the under-appreciated The Outfit, and that's a good thing.

Lego Star Wars III The Clone Wars gets new February 15, 2011 release date

Lego Star Wars III The Clone Wars hasn't been much on our radar of late but the latest Lego game from developer TT Games and publisher LucasArts is looking pretty sweet judging from the latest video. It shows various team members describing the game's features combined with new gameplay footage. The sight of hundreds of Lego-based battle droids and clone troopers fighting it out makes it clear that this will have an even more epic look and feel compared to previous Lego games.

Speaking of which our sister site Joystiq has confirmed that the game won't make its previously announced fall 2011 release schedule. It's now due out on February 15, 2011 in the US with a February 18 debut in the UK.

LEGO Star Wars trailer takes on the Clone Wars

LEGO Star Wars was the first of the highly-successful LEGO series of games. The franchise has expanded to make other licenses, such as Indiana Jones and Batman, but it's returning to its roots with Clone Wars. Based on the television series of the same name, this trailer makes it looks like more of the same. Depending on your stance on the LEGO games (we personally enjoy them as mindless fun), you will either be overjoyed or uninterested. Either way, it's worth a look!

Lego signs deal with Traveller's Tales for more Lego games

People play with Legos and also play Lego-based PC games. A lot. That is the likely reason why the Lego Group has signed a new deal today with game developer Traveller's Tales to continue their previous licensing agreement to make more Lego-based games until the year 2016. Financial terms were not disclosed

Traveller's Tales, owned by Warner Bros. Interactive, had a massive critical and sales hit with their Lego Star Wars game. Since then the developer has sold almost 50 million units of its Lego based games which also include Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman. Their next projects are Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars which will be released later in 2010.

Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars announced

LucasArts loves their Lego-based games. After releasing several games based on the six Star Wars movies and two Indiana Jones games, the publisher is teaming up once again with developer Traveller's Tales for the latest game in the series, Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars. The game is based on the popular CGI animated series that's in its second year on the Cartoon Network.

The game itself will not only feature characters from the TV series but some characters from the Star Wars movies as well. You can also expect to use extra abilities like long distance Jedi attacks, lightsaber slicing and more. The game is due for release for the PC and pretty much every other game platforms this fall.

Rumor: Lego Rock Band game in the works?

It's time for the week's "craziest rumor" news post and this one comes from the semi-reliable UK based Videogaming247 who claims they have a source who says that Lego PC game developer Traveller's Tales is working on a Lego Rock Band game for publisher Electronic Arts.

The web site assures its readers that its source claims it is "100 percent correct" but we are very skeptical about this news bit, especially since rumors started a month ago that a Lego Harry Potter game would in fact be the next title from Traveller's Tales. In 2008 Traveller's Tales created two Lego-based games; Lego Indiana Jones for publisher LucasArts and Lego Batman for its owner Warner Bros. Interactive.
