Left 4 Dead 1 to get new DLC; Left 4 Dead 2's The Passing coming in March

When Valve announced plans for Left 4 Dead 2, they promised that the original game in the zombie shooter series would still be getting new downloadable content. Today they made good on that promise with the announcement that Left 4 Dead 1 would be getting a downloadable campaign that will be released after the previously announced Left 4 Dead 2's DLC campaign The Passing.

According to Kotaku, The Passing will be released in late March and as promised will feature the sequel's cast (Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle) meeting up with the original game's characters (Francis, Bill, Zoey and Louis who will not be playable). The DLC will also added a new "common uncommon" zombie character to the game. After that Left 4 Dead 1 will get its own (and so far untitled) downloadable campaign that shows how the first cast meets up with the sequel's cast in The Passing. Before that's released, Valve also plans to release a digital comic book, with artwork by Powers artist Michael Avon Oeming, that will also be involved in this crossover storyline.
