DiRT 2 trailer tosses Ken Block inside a Force Dynamics 401 driving simulator

DiRT 2 strives to deliver a completely realistic racing experience, and the developers are completely willing to put that to the test. Ken Block, professional rally car race driver and the game's technical consultant visits Force Dynamics and loads DiRT 2 into the 401 driving simulator. That way, he can ensure that the response and feel is as realistic as possible. Want one of these machines for your own home? A 401 base model can be purchased at the bargain price of $55,000.

Getting a video game steering wheel/pedal set, a Logitech Z-5300 5.1 surround sound speaker system and a Hitachi CP-X260 projector may give you a similar experience without getting tossed around, but what would be the fun in that? DiRT 2 releases in September for console systems and in December for the PC.

Pro Rally Car Racer, Ken Block, endorses DiRT 2

In this video, professional Rally Car driver, Ken Block, talks about how he got into competing and his role in helping to develop DiRT 2 so that it produces a very realistic experience. Oh, if it seems like Block is coming off as some kind of living billboard for Monster Energy drink, it's not your imagination. Even his virtual car pimps it - perhaps it's even fueled by it. We'd make a joke about how he should be bathing in the stuff, but a couple of models actually spray him with it at the end of the video.
