New bill in US House would label games rated T and above with health warning
The US House of Representatives has a new game-related bill to consider, one that's co-sponsored by a lawmaker who has unsuccessfully tried to push similar legislation in the past. The Video Game Health Labeling Act of 2011, if passed into law, would require that any game that is rated T or above by the ESRB have a warning label that states, "Excessive exposure to violent video games and other violent media has been linked to aggressive behavior."The bill was sponsored by Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Virginia) and Rep. Joe Baca (D-California). Baca, shown to the right, has sponsored similar bills in 2003 and 2009 but neither bill was passed.
