Jay Mohr to appear at BlizzCon 2010 ... or will he?

Having attended our first BlizzCon last year one of the highlights was seeing actor and comedian Jay Mohr do his thing at the show annual costume contest and other events. Late on Friday the official World of Warcraft web site said that the 2010 edition of Blizzard's annual fan event has officially said Mohr will be appearing at the show once again.

Except there's one problem. On Mohr's official Twitter page he has responded to message from a fan about Blizzard's announcement, saying, "I'm not sure if I'm doing it yet." Sounds like Blizzard may have been a little premature in announcing the deal. Hopefully this is just a misunderstanding rather than a negotiating ploy by Mohr.

2010 Interactive Achievement Awards ceremony to be streamed on IFC.com

This week marks the launch of the annual high end game developers event the DICE Summit in Las Vegas. It's supposed to be a very posh affair but the folks running the event at the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences will give those of us a chance to see at least part of the event this week with the help of the IFC cable channel.

The Interactive Achievement Awards, held during DICE, will be streamed live on the IFC.com web site starting at 10 pm Eastern time on Thursday. Comedian/actor Jay Mohr will host the event for the fifth time. The IFC cable channel will broadcast a half-hour special with highlights of the ceremony on February 26 at 10 pm Eastern Time.

The Interactive Achievement Awards won't be the only awards to be given out during the DICE Summit this year. The grand prize winners of Epic Games' latest Make Something Unreal mod contest will also be revealed during the event. Also the Indie Game Challenge will give out its two $1 million prizes for the best professional and non-professional independent games.

Leisure Suit Larry trailer gets it on with some gameplay

The Leisure Suit Larry adventure game series has gone through a couple of facelifts over time, not the least of which being its main character (Larry Laffer) being replaced by his nephew, Larry Lovage. Although the original Larry still makes an appearance, this gameplay trailer for Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust shows just how much the series has changed. In this new game, the original Larry becomes a movie mogul and hires his nephew to work on the set.

Unlike the previous game, Magna Cum Laude, Box Office Bust will not have any nudity, but it will feature notable voice talent from actors like Jay Mohr and Carmen Electra. Also, the game will have an open world environment with platforming elements, created using the Unreal 3 Engine. The game released today in Europe and is expected to hit the US in April. Continue reading after the jump to see video interviews with Jay Mohr and Carmen Electra.
