Prince of Persia movie gets a couple of posters

Last week, Entertainment Weekly revealed the first truly official picture from the upcoming Prince of Persia film, showing off actor Jake Gyllenhaal in his full movie costume, swords and all. Now UK-based movie site Empire has revealed the first two official movie posters for the Disney-produced May 2010 feature film adaptation of the classic game series.

You can check out both posters after the jump (they are just too tall to be displayed on the front page). One naturally shows Gyllenhaal's title character of Prince Dastan looking like he's about to cut down whomever is on his right. The other poster shows the movie's main female-love interest Princess Tamina (played by Quantam of Solace's ill-fated Bond girl Gemma Arterton) who just looks, well, mysteriously lovely.

First Prince of Persia official movie picture released

While paparazzi have taken pictures of Jake Gyllenhaal in his Prince of Persia movie garb, the Entertainment Weekly web site has now posted up the first official image from the upcoming game-based movie. As you can see Gyllenhaal's Prince Dastan has some very big . . . swords along with a nice long haircut (it's all about the image).

Oddly enough the movie is not scheduled to get a sneak peak at next week's San Diego Comic-Con even though filming has been largely completed. Prince of Persia will be released by Disney in May 2010 and Ubisoft has already announced plans for a game adaptation.
