Duke Nukem Forever footage (maybe) in new Jace Hall Show episode

After several months of waiting the fourth online season of The Jace Hall Show is now live on IGN with the former head of Monolith doing his "thing", much of which is game related. Just some of the features this week include a sit down with Stan "The Man" Lee, an odd visit from that Old Spice TV commercial guy and some new exclusive footage from F.E.A.R. 3.

There's also some new footage from what appears to Duke Nukem Forever showing off some of the more gory effects in the game. The footage appears to be submitted via some kind of leaked build of the long awaited first person shooter (although that might be fake). You can check out the episode after the jump. Keep in mind that some of the video's language is not safe for work.

Jace Hall Show shows off unannounced Warner Bros. Interactive game

The third season of the web series The Jace Hall Show has posted up its sixth and (for now) final epiosde (it's just going on hiatus) but the IGN-sponsored web site managed to get a first look at an unannounced and unnamed game from publisher Warner Bros. Interactive (where Jace Hall used to be president of).

After some humorous banter about how Hall almost brought down Warner Bros Interactive while he ran the division (at least we think it's supposed to be humorous) the publisher execs give in and let Hall film five seconds of an unnamed future game. As you can see from the above image it appears to be a first person shooter title but that's all we can gather from the footage. You can check out the entire episode, which features a throw down with Randy Jackson, a 11 year old Jace Hall and a surprise ending, after the jump:

StarCraft 2 subject of new Jace Hall Show episode

StarCraft 2's beta release is coming by the end of February, or at least that is what Blizzard is saying at the moment. So it's perfect timing for the third episode of IGN's The Jace Hall Show. The former head of Monolith is seen during parts of the episode at a "real" StarCraft 2 design meeting (although if it is real, we should all be scared).

There's nothing that's really revealed gameplay wise in the video but it's certainly an . . . interesting way to promote the game. We will see more of the StarCraft II "meeting" in the next Jace Hall episode next week. In the meantime you can check out the latest episode, which includes appearances by two Stargate actors, Seth McFarlane and a promotion for Jace Hall's new World of Warcraft song (we are not kidding) after the jump.

Feature: Jason Hall is still a gamer even as he makes a living in Hollywood

It's been a very interesting last few years for Jason Hall. He first became well known as a game developer and later game industry executive who helped to found developer Monolith (creators of games like Blood, Shogo and No One Lives Forever). Hall then became the head of Warner Bros. Interactive in 2004 and helped to launch a number of titles for the company including the original F.E.A.R. In 2007, Hall decided to leave the game industry, at least on a day to day basis, with the founding of HDFilms, a multi-media development studio in Hollywood.

Despite becoming a full-fledged Hollywood producer, Hall told Big Download recently in a phone interview that he's still a gamer at heart, "I grew up playing games," he told use, "and it always pissed me off how video game culture is depicted in the media. The masses in general have this very specific viewpoint of what these people are like." Hall said that the video game culture is, in his opinion, everywhere you look. " Today, either you play video games or you know someone who does," he says.

Duke Nukem Forever footage in new Jace Hall Show episode

The first episode of the web-only Jace Hall Show in early 2008 showed off some Duke Nukem Forever footage and now with the game in what appears to be indefiniate limbo the Jace Hall Show has decided to go back and show lots more Shaky Cam footage from their trip to 3D Realms.

Remember this footage is of a build of the game that was shown in late 2007, well over a year before the game stopped production. Considering that time difference the game looks very playable. There's even a little bit of trivia from Jace Hall himself about a bet about when the game would be released with a former producer of the game. Oh, and this episode has lots of . . . words in it that might not be for the kids, so keep that in mind.

Proposed V remake to include game aspect

If you are old as dirt like we are you may remember the great 1983 mini-series V, a sci-fi allegory of the Nazis rise to power in the form of aliens called the Vistoros. They said they came to Earth wanting peace but they turned out to be lizards who want to eat us and take our water. The mini-series spawned a sequel and a short lived TV series but remains one of the most admired sci-fi TV efforts.

Now Variety has word that ABC and Warner Bros. are trying to get a remake of V off the ground. One of the executive producers is none other than Jace Hall, founder of Monolith and former head of Warner Bros. Interactive. He currently is the head of HDFilms (and star of the web series the Jace Hall Show). Variety states that Hall will lead the effort to get the V remake into other platforms, including games. So it may be a matter of time before the Visitors return and appear on your hard drive.

Crackle.com does show off Duke Nukem Forever gameplay . . . kind of

Earlier this week we reported that former Monolith founder Jason Hall was going to debut his new web based talk show called the Jace Hall Show. The announcement claimed that the first episode would have a new trailer from Duke Nukem Forever, the long awaited FPS from 3D Realms. However, the developer's president George Broussard quickly put that bit of news down, saying, if there was a new trailer for Duke Nukem Forever on the show, "I'd tell you if I did."

Well, now you can see that debut episode on Crackle.com yourself and after chatting with team members about the game, Hall is actually seen playing the game near the end of the episode. It's an over the shoulder camera viewpoint so that means no direct feed footage. However there is a lot of shooting, a brief look at the weapons interface and some interesting visuals. So while it's not a true trailer it's still something new from the game that's been over 10 years in development. Now we just need something a little more substantial . . . like a release date.

Oh, and there's a chat with Heroes actor Greg Grunberg.
