GamersGate shows off its weekend price cuts

Like other downloadable game sites, GamersGate is not immune to cutting the prices off some of their games for the weekend. This time round the site has two games and two game collections on sale for the weekend. The games themselves are Iron Man, the 2008 adaptation of the super hero movie. It can be yours for just $9.99. Also on sale is Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete which is now available for a mere $4.99.

Also on sale are all the games in the Spellforce series which are priced at 30 percent off this weekend. Sega to publish movie-based Iron Man 2 in 2010

Sega's 2008 Iron Man game (based on the Marvel Comics movie of the same name) didn't get the best reviews but did generate solid sales, thanks in part to the success of the film. Today Sega announced they would again team up with Marvel to release Iron Man 2, based on the film's upcoming sequel that will be released in the summer of 2010

Sega's San Fransisco development studio (previously known as Secret Level) will once again handle the development duties for the Iron Man game sequel. Sega promises gamers "can expect an entirely new and enhanced gameplay experience." We sure hope so. Marvel's Armored Avenger needs a game that's as good as the films turned out to be.

Richard Bartle is a videogame hero

He may not be Iron Man or the Hulk, but Richard Bartle sure can give a good verbal smashing, if not at the very least a literary laser blast from his chest. His latest enemies were politicians and newspaper columnists who continue to try and point fingers at those who play -- and have in many cases grown up playing -- videogames.

The article in question points out how time is against those who would liken you, us or anyone who grew up playing games to a psychopathic serial killer and/or crazy loon. Doctor Bartle goes on point out that more and more gamers are starting to vote, raise families of their own and won't appreciate people calling them all sorts of insulting things simply because of their chosen hobbies or in some cases careers.
